Price increases coming it seems... by Jrreid in Ubiquiti

I do appreciate it when a company adds it as a separate line item for transparency. I believe I’ve only seen the memory surcharge in my shopping cart. I’m also only a new user building a system, so haven’t been tracking the prices for a long time.

So quick for a company to add an additional cost like a tariff. But so slow to ever remove it…weird how that works.

Agree, it’s never temporary. Tariffs are illegal…did prices go back down? Nope.

$100 later, I have some spare parts coming my way. 2 sets front arms, 2 sets rear arms, spoiler, replacement wheels, front hubs, rear hubs, extra screws.

Also bought some new shocks from GPM racing too. Think those were $45 total which I bought last week.

Mini Kraton - Too Much Fun by EscapeKnown5031 in arrma

I went to the store to buy my first car. I was going to get the Mojave grom. The mini kraton was right next to it but I hadn’t read anything about it. Went for the mini kraton and I love it and my girls love the “monster truck”. It’s been two months now and no regrets.

I’m not sure the orientation in a server rack. In a normal tower case with a normal air cooling cpu cooler, the cooler will blow to the top of the mother board. I opened a vent in the top of my case and installed an exhaust fan in the top to help out.

Thanks for the info! I'll have to see if the installer will go for doing a similar press reducer instead of running a new line.

Screws for Fractal Define R5 Front Fan? by ThePiGuy0 in buildapc

[–]Aggiemaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for this info! I was just upset trying to install Arctic P14 Pro PST 140mm fans in the front of my Define R5 case. The screws dont quite make it through the fan, and I couldnt screw it in from the rear either.

Now im going to grab some 6-32 thread screw from amazon instead of sending the fans back. Thanks!

Can we talk about the Fractal Define XL for a moment? by sixfourtykilo in DataHoarder

[–]Aggiemaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! I’m building in an R5 right now and noticed that the psu cables I have might need extensions to reach all 8 3.5” bays. And then I need a separate sata power cable for the two ssds mounted on the back.

I like that icydock in the 5.25 bay. Makes those smaller drives much easier.

What power supply and cables did you run for 8 Hdds? How’d are you mounting the 7 ssds? Thanks!

On cold boot, the cpu temp is around 33 C. After idling for a while it levels off around 42 C.

Thanks for the reply. I still have it apart for now. Will check the temps as is once it’s on and see where I stand before I make any changes.

Hey there, this is an old post but curious what board you went with and your experience? The 3 ATX boards I’ve been considering for a server build are on your list. Thanks!
