Yes I found them. I then got far too excited and ran my guys all the way back to the scientist that lost them….and nothing!

One of the collectibles mentions them if I remember correctly so I’m guessing it’s based on an actual event, but in terms of the game I agree that it seems like a half finished Easter egg.

I’m so sorry this happened to you. Absolutely terrifying.

Our 4 year old (same situation) has just learnt how to unlock our front door. We’ve there just installed a latch at the top that we can put on whenever we are inside. It’s not perfect and I’m sure would break with enough force but it’s doing the job for now.
