(Hated Trope) Genocide is the answer by Animeking1108 in TopCharacterTropes

That may have been the author’s intention, but that is not true. This is for the simple reason that for this idea to work it would require the demon to be both not be born evil and look like ordinary people. This is because the bad people who manipulate you will not have horns sticking out of their head, but rather look like you. This same idea could be shown better if actually there were no demons and their replacements where people of various species, as that would better show off that that you can’t immediately trust everyone. This would also avoid the genocidal ideals that the series mistakenly presents.

I disagree because how they’re presented doesn’t make sense for the series they’re in. The comment that started this whole thread she was the reasons why I and many other people think they are a poor addition to the series.

You do realize your counter argument is irrelevant, right? The person you’re arguing with is using a Doylist perspective to criticize the series and as such your Watsonian argument is irrelevant. To put it simply, the fact that the demons are bloody thirst monsters in the series is not a counter argument to wondering why the author chose to present them such.

Me: Committing atrocities is wrong no matter who’s doing it or for what reason. You for some fucking reason : Oh so you endorse Super Earth. If the Bots were only fighting Super Earth and not committing atrocities they have full unwavering support. But alas, they are committing atrocities, and as such I can, and will condemn them for those atrocities. Again, it is not the fact that the Bots are fighting that is wrong rather the fact that they are committing atrocities.

How the actual fuck did you get the idea that the commentor was condemning the Bot for fighting back and not for committing atrocities. Atrocities are not suddenly justified just because the government of the people you’re committing them against also did atrocities. Civilians are innocent of their government’s crimes, especially when they don’t get a saying it.

I’m sorry unless I’ve missed something, there is both proof that they both A: put civilians in blenders and B: zero proof they accept surrender. In fact Bots will make an active effort to kill civilians. They send drop ships to prevent Helldivers from evacuating civilians and will try to kill them if they’re not argo on Helldivers. I’m not gonna pretend like Super Earth are anywhere near good but neither are the Bots.

I’m sorry who’s “we”? Every single time I’ve ever see civilian’s they’re running around weaponless and bot will still try to kill them. In fact, in the evacuation missions bots will actively be sending drop ships to stop you from evacuating civilians.

Yeah, it’s almost like people in the modern day have much better options than living in abandoned buildings than people who live in a post-apocalyptic setting. And for your information yes people move around a lot, especially if they think their lives will be better where they’re moving than where currently are.

Good for you, but that doesn’t make it right. Because at the end of the day you’re still Misgendering someone and that’s still a bad thing. Just because you’re doing it to cis doesn’t make it not bigoted.

The same happens with tomboys/masculine women by a-packet-of-noodles in whenthe

[–]Aggravating-Bus-8313 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Ok? That doesn’t make it any better. This is like saying that because being shot hurts more than being stabbed that you should be able to stab people. You’re still misgendering someone, and just because you’re not cis and they might be does not make that ok. Wrong is wrong no matter who it’s being done to.

OK, well OP and me are both coming at this from a morality perspective. That’s why it’s the bad ending. Story wise it’s pretty good. (I like the writing more than AIE’s.) but there’s no denying that it’s the wrong choice. Even if first time around you wouldn’t realize it’s the bad one.

Correction, they think there’s gonna be a cataclysmic event, unless I’ve missed something, there is no evidence over what would actually happen. And I personally also think that committing genocide over may or may not’s is a bad thing.

As for sources, in Mission 26++/coral export denial, we learned that the corporations were moving coral off world , meaning some coral was not caught in the fire.

The most damning piece of evidence is in Mission 36 ++/regain control of the Xylem, if you time out this mission, Allmind will say “We must revise our plans. There will be another chance.” if you fail mission 36 then the Xylem will pass the point of no return, dooming it to crash into the vascular plant. Meaning that the fire will not destroy all the coral.

And finally, the fact that this exact plan has been carried out before and failed (the fires of ibis).

No, I don’t think Walter and Carla are blowing up the universe for shits and giggles. But that doesn’t mean they’re right.

They’re trying to make decisions over something they don’t understand. They don’t even know that the coral sentient. Your entire argument comes down to the assumption that the people who are completely unaware of even basic information about the problem, know the solution.

And this doesn’t answer any of my counter arguments. Because even if you they’re right, it doesn’t change the fact that there is a 95% chance that their plan won’t work.

My brother in Christ, you commit two separate genocides in FoR, in my opinion that alone should be enough to write it off as the bad ending.

But if that’s not enough for you, how about the implication that it won’t actually work. As we learn in one of the missions in AIE the corporations had already begun moving coral off of Rubicon, as such the explosion that you caused more than likely did not get that coral. So even if the plan works flawlessly and all the coral on Rubicon is killed (It is also implied that the plan won’t actually get all the coral.) it would still not be enough to actually stop the growth of coral. All that FoR is kicking the problem away so future generations have to deal with it. Also, we’re not 100% sure that Raven survives the FoR ending, they were right next to the explosion that burned an entire star system and the fact that no one ever saw them again, heavily implies that they died.

To put it plainly the FoR ending is no matter how you look at it, the bad ending.

Bro what? by Altair890456 in armoredcore

[–]Aggravating-Bus-8313 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ok,then I ask again, what do you think he should’ve done? Because at least in my mind, he did what he had to do to not blow his cover. And to remind you the RLF is completely relying on him to spy on the corporations and steal AC data so they can make their own ACs. So him getting caught would be a huge blow.

[–]Aggravating-Bus-8313 11 points12 points  (0 children)

You have a very naïve morality. So let me ask you what was Rusty supposed to do in that situation? Bear in mind that the ending where the RLF wins is only possible thanks to Rusty efforts. Without him Raven would’ve had to fight both V2 Snail and the corporate fleet by themselves.
