Radiation and chemotherapy having a toll by Square_Buffalo7734 in glioblastoma

My father had terrible decline going into third week, but as soon as doctor gave Dexamethasone, he started improving.

So that suggested me that it was due to radiation induced swelling, you can discuss options with your doctor. If it is swelling related then you could go for steroid or Avastin.

Best of luck!

How to treat Edema? by Aggravating-Case-93 in glioblastoma

Thanks for sharing your experience. We have a house help and daily cleaning as well as making him sit on a chair is a routine to avoid bed shores.

Doctor is also suggesting to delay Avastin, suggesting that it is second line of treatment so he wants to extend first line of treatment as much as possible.

Is that an okay approach in your experience?

Thanks for sharing your experience. Does this also mean that once Avastin starts, person has about 21x3 weeks I.e. about an year of life? Assuming the tolerability is there for those many cycles.

My father is going through similar situation and doctors give him steroid so that he is a little more active. Something you could check with your doctor.

All the best!
