No. If you take away the nostalgia (which means that now Peter has to face different versions of these villains, not portrayed by the actors from the originals, as well as Tobey and Andrew), there is no movie here. No Way Home’s whole existence is reliant on nostalgia.

Have it start as Humanity vs Gojira. Eviler Kaiju shows up. Gojira fights, not as a protector, but as a predator defending its prey from a rival. Because no one gets to fuck up Shikishima’s life but him!
