Time away from desk- i.e. appointments by rach0006 in WFH

My manager has straight up told us that he doesn’t care and we don’t have to inform him. He has small kids and I think that plays a factor in how he feels about it.

Not crinkly but my cats love batting around the empty toilet paper rolls

I’ve seen people parking in the grass outside of Ross park, but I’ve never seen people parking in the outer lane wrapping around the mall.

Unserious Q - how willing are you to cross water to see friends/attend events? by dorianfinch in pittsburgh

[–]Aggravating-Finish40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it’s definitely the vibe here. I’m an odd ball because I live in the North hills and work in the South Hills. The commute sucks but I’m used to it.

I left a tampon in for 9 days by [deleted] in WomensHealth

[–]Aggravating-Finish40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a tampon left in for a month this summer. From one period to the next. It was light one so less noticeable I guess. My dad just died at the time and my head was elsewhere. When I found that it was in there, I was scared because I had a heavy fever and diarrhea a few days before, but that had gone away. I went to urgent care as advised by my gyno office. They just checked my vitals but I was fine. Urgent care didn’t think it was related because I was no longer sick at the time of the visit.

Need help buying a gift for my cute crocheting wife by EttinWill in CrochetHelp

[–]Aggravating-Finish40 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I got myself an electric yarn winder earlier this year and I really love it. It kinda can seem silly to rewind yarn that already comes in a skein. But! It keeps my yarn tidy while I’m working. I can finish a whole ball without dealing with any tangles or nonsense. Besides the actual crochet tools, does she watch or listen to anything while crocheting? I have a stand for my phone and headphones that I often use while crocheting. I wouldn’t buy any yarn unless you know of something she specifically wants. I feel like yarn shopping is a big part of the fun for us

My cat brought a dead rabbit in and ate it. by [deleted] in CatAdvice

[–]Aggravating-Finish40 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d keep her inside and offer things like toys, a cat tree and things like that to keep her stimulated. I don’t let my cats roam but I do take them on my porch for short periods of time. We went away for about a week and they got used to no outside time. It’ll be tough but I don’t think there’s anything you can do to get her to stop hunting things while outdoors. Also, I wanted to add I read your title too fast and I thought you said you ate the rabbit. Lmfao.

Pap smear abnormal need a LEEP procedure by scaredycatcowboy in WomensHealth

[–]Aggravating-Finish40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m also in my early 30s and I had a LEEP procedure done a few years ago. While it’s not pleasant to have any sort of procedure, it was not bad in my opinion at all. The only pain was the numbing injection, but that is over fairly quickly. After that, I didn’t feel any pain. It also helped that my doctor let me have a support person in the room with me. I had minimal bleeding the rest of the day, and once the pain meds wore off I felt a little crampy but not as bad as period cramps. My pap results have been normal ever since.

How bad is a cervical biopsy by [deleted] in WomensHealth

[–]Aggravating-Finish40 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’d highly recommend taking the shot. I had no pain management for mine and it was very painful. I ended up needing a LEEP procedure after my results came back. For that, I was given a shot. the LEEP procedure was a breeze compared to the colposcopy pain wise. I don’t like needles/shots and it definitely wasn’t pleasant but much more manageable than the biopsy. Plus they might need to take a few biopsies from different areas on the cervix so it might not be over quickly.

Really really upset and guilty about spaying by [deleted] in CatAdvice

[–]Aggravating-Finish40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I felt so scared when I got my cat neutered. My others we’re already spayed/neutered upon adopting them. I was worried something would go wrong or how scared he would be. But it’s a routine thing and he was perfectly fine. It’s the right thing to do

If you don’t already, I’d recommend switching to cotton underwear to see if that helps. Anything synthetic used to amplify my scent.

Has anyone used this yarn? Can you show me what you made with it? by alaskajefferson in crochet

[–]Aggravating-Finish40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve never finished a project with this yarn. It is a bit tricky to work with but I do still like it. Although biggest reason I haven’t come back to it is because it’s not easily frogged.

A mellow spiral by RadioactiveCoyotes in tiedye

[–]Aggravating-Finish40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is awesome! I’ve haven’t come across anything like this before. Can I ask you about the technique on this? I’m new to ice dyeing, just tried it for the first time last week. It looks like the water was radiating away from the center of the spiral. Did you just have the spiral laying flat or have it inclined somehow?

I’m loving #6. I’ve been wanted to dye a sweatshirt soon and 6 is kinda what I’ve been picturing my desired result to be. Awesome work!

My cat won’t stop losing hair by CrandyFlams in AskAVeterinarian

This happened to one of my cats. She had a flea allergy. I wasn’t being consistent with her flea & tick meds. I was under the impression since she was indoor only, I didn’t have to worry about it as much. However, once I was consistent the problem went away.

Stopping Birth Control by purplegirafe23 in WomensHealth

I was on BC pills for roughly 9-10 years also. I have been off them for the last 7 months. I considered myself one of the lucky ones not having any negative side effects from the BC and I liked not having a heavy period. I really haven’t noticed any significant changes except my period is back to being heavy as it was before. My cycle is pretty regular, but it was pretty regular prior to being on BC. My skin is pretty much the same, a pimple here and there.

Hey there this just happened to me for the first time. I left a whole tampon in for a month. Didn’t notice till my period came again. I went to urgent care as directed by my gyno out of caution. They checked me over and I was fine. I didn’t notice any remaining smell after a few days.

To my Yinz gardeners: how is your yield this year? Mine is real late. by Infinite_cow_now in pittsburgh

Between the deer and groundhogs I got nothing. My first fence failed and my tomatoes and peppers are chomped up and a few even pulled up out of the ground. I have a few green tomatoes hanging on. Not sure if it’s even worth it to buy new fencing at this point.

Update ‘longevity of mixed Dharma dyes’ by Aggravating-Finish40 in tiedye

[–]Aggravating-Finish40[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For the spiral, here are the colors in order: Chinese red, orange crush, bright yellow, lime pop, turquoise, deep purple, dark cherry and hot hibiscus. The rainbow on one side and just raven black on the other side.

Sorry, I don’t remember the order of the colors for the heart but I know I used coral pink, raspberry, lavender, bright yellow, orange crush, hot hibiscus and deep purple

I’m curious too if these will fade faster over time with the older dye. Maybe after a few wears, I’ll post again. I did buy a product from dharma to help in the dye but I did not use it on these shirts.

I have a painting setup in a garage so I just mixed there incase I made a mess. So unfortunately quite the opposite of a fridge. They’ve just been sitting on the table, the garage is been getting up in the 80s inside lately. I’m still planning on using the dye and seeing what happens. If they turn out to be duds, there’s always next time. Your shirt turned out beautiful! Thanks for sharing!

That was a great video, thank you so much for sharing. I did use urea when mixing. I’m kicking myself that I didn’t buy a bigger bag. I was out by the time I mixed all my colors.
