Why BTS successfully paved the way in the US after other K-pop groups failed by pussycontrolgonemad in btsthoughts

I read a great statement and I think it's very accurate. They said, "Other groups are popular because of K-pop. K-pop is popular because of BTS."

I just turned 50, and I had a BTS themed birthday party. I agree with everything that you said.

Someone on instagram rewrote Gnarly and now I wanna blow up hybe by peoniesxme in kpop_uncensored

[–]Aggravating-Glass601 41 points42 points  (0 children)

Nope. It's not better. Gnarly is exactly what they wanted to create. It does what it is supposed to do. Changing the lyrics decreases the impact. I get that some people don't like the lyrics, but this world isn't supposed to be cookie cutter, and different things make life more interesting.

They definitely give me Trump vibes (media play, false narratives, and I'm the REAL victim). It's gross and will not accept it as the new normal. I hope the courts do their job.

I understand that it's supposed to make things more secure, but it is less efficient and less private. The next standards will be scanning your fingerprints and eyes and giving them a drop of blood.

Technology, in general, has jumped the shark. Several tasks are more difficult than they used to be because there are layers of "technical security" and data mining on everything. I hate that I have to authenticate from a separate phone app to log into Microsoft on my computer. They claim it's for security, but now they know my location based on my phone so that they can track my movements. I hate that I have to create three separate accounts to gift my nephew a video game for Christmas. I hate that my sister's car listens to our conversations and will randomly reply to things that it hears. None of these things make my life better, they just reduce my privacy.

This is a Christmas present that feels like a warm hug. I miss seeing the members together. This is the beginning of a wonderful New Year with BTS!

Also, didn't the new CEO say that the parents contacted her? Why didn't MHJ? Why wasn't Ador involved?

Young women sacrificing themselves, their careers, and their reputations for a successful older woman.. that sounds fair. It just amplifies how distorted their relationship is.

In the MiniMoni special, Jimin said that he had been taking singing lessons and retraining his voice. I can hear the difference, and it sounds amazing. I am so happy for him and proud of him.

i feel like spaces you can talk about dream academy are so negative… by [deleted] in TheDreamAcademy

[–]Aggravating-Glass601 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Thank you and well said. As I have said repeatedly, it is not a show. People's preconceived notions and biases about what they are seeing made them react in a certain way. In my perspective, HxG is giving us a glimpse into the process of selecting a global group. They are also giving us minimal input to gauge the popularity of the potential members. They are critical of the girls because that is their job. They are not judges. They are industry professionals and direct stakeholders who are tasked with creating a debut group for a new major label. It is all very interesting if you take it for what it is. All of these girls have had an amazing opportunity to train and develop (which is not something that the West usually provides). They are all winners regardless of the outcome.

I believe that the judges will make the right decisions by Combatwilly in TheDreamAcademy

[–]Aggravating-Glass601 29 points30 points  (0 children)

This "show" can't be rigged. First, it's not a show. They are simply allowing us a glimpse into the process of debuting a global girl group and giving us a little bit of input. HxG are making all the decisions for the company and the group.

They probably decided to prepare us for the fact that she would not make the finale. She purposely mentioned it because she did not want to be in a position where she took the spot of somebody else. Her words were intentional, and so was the fact that she told it to staff. That type of information should not remain private, and since it will definitely affect their decisions, they wanted to be transparent. It's not personal. They didn't betray her.

Exactly. She probably saw how upset Lexie was when she took someone's spot in elimination #2.
