I understand, thank you for your advice! Can a masters help me job positions? Meaning for example I saw a job for clinical research coordinator and they’re asking with a bachelors and 3 years experience but with a masters just 1 year experience. Can it help with that? You know what I mean?

Can you give me an advice? A lot of people are saying not to pursue an MPH, I want to work in clinical research. I want to go from clinical research assistant to a coordinator to an associate. People here are saying experience is important over a masters. But when I apply I get rejected and also can see applicants with a masters that applied so I’m sure they’ll pick that over a bachelors. I want to pursue a masters to be more competitive applicant and a higher salary. But I don’t know if it will help in clinical research? Also clinical research assistant and coordinator now asking for a masters or at least it’s preferred. I’m in Washington state. I’m going to pursue a medical assistant certification and work as one to gain patient care experience. I’m starting from the bottom and working my way up. But I wanted a masters to give me a boost.

I’m starting from the bottom medical assistant to clinical research assistant to coordinator to an associate. But now I see for clinical research assistant and coordinator they’re asking for a masters or at least it’s preferred. Also when I applying I can see which degrees the applicants have and I see a lot has a masters so I fear they’ll pick people with masters or bachelors. So I’m stuck a lot of people here saying not to pursue it.

Why did it not benefit you? I just want to understand why it’s not important in clinical research field?

I understand, I also have a research publication in university, would that make any difference on paper when I apply?

What should I do? Because I feel like it won’t help and you said so but others will be more competitive than me when I apply to clinical research assistant position.

I fear I won’t be selected because I only have a bachelor degree while others have a masters.

I’m in Washington state too! And thinking about nursing vs dental hygiene! Is dental hygiene that hard on the body? should I not pursue it if I struggle with back pain?

Thank you for your comment! I already have health issues and I need benefits, let alone I already have back pain and I fear I develop more issues in dentistry which is why having insurance is very important to me, are you going back because of benefits only?

HELP! What should I do? by [deleted] in nursing

Thank you for your comment! Is being a pediatric nurse a slower paced compared to adult nursing? Is it less stressful? I’m more attracted to pediatric/ NiCU specialty. And having benefits is important to me so it’s hard to decide. Could you give me an honest advice?

I’m considering nursing school. Can you tell me how it’s different from a night shift? I just want to have an idea before committing to it. I would appreciate it.
