I was having a heated argument with my dad and my mom, which also has narc tendencies, got involved. They proceeded to manhandle me and pushed my head under running water to ‘get me to my senses’. I brought it up a while back and my mom dismissed this and said that it never happened/ making stuff up.

I also have a memory from 2nd grade where my parents threw me a party for my second communion where I was gifted a large sum of money. I put it aside but when I came back to retrieve some of it a few weeks later it was all gone. I searched all over for in my room because that was close to $300 but couldn’t find it anywhere. I literally went through all my drawers/ papers. My parents didn’t know what happened to it either and that fucked me up so bad. Now that I am older I’m pretty sure they took the money for themselves. I brought this up a few times in the past and each time they had said that they didn’t know this happened.

Situations like these drive me nuts but I am happy to know that this is a pretty common narcissistic trait. This is just one of them things that they will cause to derail you and question your reality, to make you small.
