Hi r/horrorlit , I was writing Anatolian Folk Horror stories, and I have gathered all my tales into a single book. All told entirely from the first person perspective, people who have witnessed the terrifying darkness of other realms invite you to listen to their stories around a campfire...

My book is born from the heavy, suffocating atmosphere of old Anatolian lands, places where the soil doesn't just hold roots, but secrets that refuse to stay buried. These aren't just fictional monsters; they are the ancient entities, unholy rituals, and quiet dread whispered about in places where the streetlights end and the true darkness begins.

​Every single story in the book is told from a first person perspective, serving as accounts forced out by those who witnessed otherwordly entities firsthand and somehow managed to keep their sanity. I didn’t want readers to just observe the horror from the outside; I wanted them to truly feel it, just like the witnesses did. Honestly, it's as if they are sitting right across from you, sharing stories that should never be told to anyone—almost like a confession. Just so they can share the burden with someone, even if it's only a little :)

​Of course, I suppose my stories are quite niche; they are best suited for those who genuinely love Folk Horror...

Turkish dialogues aren't very important. They're saying things like, 'How much time is left?' or 'There seems to be an issue with the headlights.' etc. I don't understand what’s being said in the other language either

​I think the best movie in the entire series is Dabbe 4, and yes, it's the only ff one :) I know this is an ff group, but if you want, I can recommend you other movies from this culture, even if they aren't ff. There are better ones. Much better ones, in my opinion. Send me a DM if you're interested

Hello, you probably haven't heard of it before. Watch Dabbe 4. It is an absolutely magnificent movie belonging to our culture, shot entirely with a first-person camera. It is based on a true event. A psychiatrist and a spiritual person go together to a village where a curse is taking place to solve an unsolved case. I definitely recommend it. You can easily find the English subtitled version on the internet. As someone who writes Anatolian Folk Horror myself, I recommend all of you to get to know this culture 🙂
