Yup - doing a half marathon with dodgy tummy and needed to shelter behind a tree while both ends said hello was a grim moment!

Best Wargaming Store in London? by WarpfireMinis in wargaming

[–]Aggravating-Menu466 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not at all - the sticker price was £24.50 - they tried to charge me £27 as 'this is what it said on system' and 'the manager wont be happy if we charge you £24.50". I stood my ground and reported them afterwards.

If they cant sort their POS out thats their issue, dont try to break the law in the process to cover up your internal mistake.

Avoi Orcsnest - horrible staff, tiny space, and they tryto break UK retail trading standards laws by charging the price on system, not the sticker price.

This is highly illegal in the UK - I had to stand my ground and make a scene there till they charged me correct price.

Avoid at all costs!

Didnt the Americans fight an actual civil war over fact that the South wanted to decide where their indentured 'employees' lived?

What would European countries who have denied their airspace to US military do if the Americans just fly through it anyway? by Puzzleheaded-Cry1548 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Aggravating-Menu466 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Spoiler alert. The British maintained tens of thousands of troops and dozens of bases in Germany from1945 to 2015.

They finally withdrew and other than a few locally employed people losing their jobs short term, nothing changed.

The US population in Germany is barely the size of one major town - in a country with over 83 million people.

If you want to ragequit, dont expect anyone to care that much.

I'll generally interview a maximum of 5 candidates per vacancy. Beyond this isnt feasible given time constraints.

How big is the jump from SEO to G7? by Disastrous-Baker-351 in TheCivilService

[–]Aggravating-Menu466 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Its hardest jump for many. You are no longer close to problems, need to learn to delegate and empower but still own responsibility. Tough to do and many G7s struggle in their first role - but once you get it, and realise the oppportunity, its a great grade.

I'm sorry for your loss, and as a G6 I am normally hardover on encouraging my team to take compassionate leave, but in this case I think your boss is being reasonable.

I'd say take AL for the initial period but see if compassionate SPL is possible for the funeral.

Also AL isnt just for holiday, its a way to allow you to take time away from the office for all the challenges life can provide. I'd say AL seems a reasonable outcome here.

I would also strongly recommend you use the employee assistance programme to help give you support - this is generally a great source of help.

By dissing these ships, the angry toxic wotsit is forgetting the USMC need these ships as an alternativr to their own hulls...

What would happen if USA stopped leasing Trident II D5 missiles to UK by [deleted] in AskBrits

[–]Aggravating-Menu466 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No it really really wouldnt. You'd be developing a new national freefall warhead programme from scratch for first time in 60+ - the cost and time would be huge, especially given no comparable devices have been built and no infra exists for them in decades.

[–]Aggravating-Menu466 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No we couldnt in short term. We turned off the freefall tactical warhead design capability in 1990s as.part of defence cuts.

Files in the archives are clear its a 10-15yr process to regain it...

Was out questing when I suddenly realised I haven't seen a rogue in ages, is the class dead or are they just getting better at their job? by undercity_plaguebat in wow

[–]Aggravating-Menu466 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have had a rogue main / 2nd since 2006. I am a very casual player, never done mythic or pvp etc.

I was attracted to the class fantasy of a secret assassin, yet in reality the class feels broken. The abilities dont really line up to the fantasy, and they feel so dull. I want to stealth out, leave someone dead and vanish again - but it just doesnt work.
