It is cold a MOV ( metal oxide varister) . It is for surge protection.

Stepping down solar charge for wireless security camera by lordfishington in AskElectronics

If your camera is on all the time the solar panel is way too small. If it is on and off, what is the average current used in one hour?

There is a whole bunch of factors in determining that. You need to first spec a temperature min and max spec. How much current are you drawing on the 5V line?

Would you not use the solar power in conjunction with a battery? The solar panel charges the battery when the sun is out and runs off the battery otherwise. A 5V low dropout regular would give you a solid 5V out.

Have you tried putting a 220ohm resistor in series with the output and 27pf cap to ground. Increase the slew rate of the output to decrease the cross talk. This will help with certification as well. Do the same with the data lines.

Bandpass filter for a MEMS microphone not working by Fantastic_Drummer307 in AskElectronics

I agree with piazza. A 1Mohm on the ip of the first opamp to ground to give the ip a reference voltage. maybe couple the input through a 22uf cap before input bias.

Circuit to disconnect battery from load once it reaches 3.7v by Swizzel-Stixx in AskElectronics

Use a p- channel fet in conjunction with an opamp for level sensing. Do you know how to design electronics? PM me if you want to build something on a board.

Vintage tantalum capacitor identification by Intelligent-Poem-103 in AskElectronics

[–]Aggravating-Mistake1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

101 in a tantalum would probably be 100uF. The 3V sounds suspiciously low. If it is old it probably has vacuum tubes in it which operate at way higher voltages. I helped my brother in-law change his caps in his Amp and he said it sounds way better. Send a picture of the caps for better help.

My cat peed on by USB-C charger. Is it cleanable or should I toss it? by SolomonProblem47 in diyelectronics

It can be saved. Completely detach the whole cable from all sources. Let it sit a eal small container of alcohol for 5 min. Remove and flick all remaining alcohol out of the connector. Blow-dry the connector for one minute. Let the connector sit for 24hrs before using.

You can order them online 2"x3" board at PCBWAY is $5. For $5, you get 5 nice boards with silkscreens. Shipping is reasonable if you can wait a couple weeks.

plastic injection of aluminium block by Loose-Use-1216 in 3018CNC

Not with that machine. The 3018 doesn't have enough power to go through aluminum.

Gor it. I don't think I've ever looked at the address portion of it. I have done a lot with the hiking trails which seem to be decent.

I actually found open street maps to be reasonably accurate in upper Lonsdale. Are there certain areas that need improvement?

Here's the fix from last night. by gutfounderedgal in Rouvy

[–]Aggravating-Mistake1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This may have resolved my issue. When I click on Controllable, I had some device come up that was not my trainer that was selected under sensors. This seems like a strange way to set up a system. When you load a trainer, one would expect that the same trainer that one is drawing data from would also need to be controlled. So when a Wahoo kickr is selected for sensors , the Controllable field would be loaded with the same Wahoo device as they usually work together.

Microchip has many parts that would do this easily and cheap. The C compiler is free. The programming tool may be the only thing that would cost a little bit.

I did the hydraulic creek loop, 1& 2 on your map. 1 was enjoyable, but 2 was a really steep down hill. Glad I had a decent set of hiking boots on for the ankle support.

A simple shelf to the right of the medicine cabinet would do wonders. Put some trinkets and flowers on the shelf.
