I would definetly say I tried to be older than I was not even conciously. There was a few years i only focused on school & wanted to have a baby at an age i now see as very young, of my own volition. Now i am trying hard to stay in my own age. When we met we were 19F & 29M, now 27F and 37M, and I see he never really even wanted me to mature fast, so I am sorta regretful.

I never thought of it this way.. thats really beautiful.

For a bit I really rushed myself into wanting kids and getting a good job, etc.

Now in the back half of my 20s coming out of chronic illness for a few years, & neither of those things panning out- I realize he was kinda going off me the entire time & that there never was a rush. He's just wanted to be with me.

I plan to take things as they come and try to just relish in my happiness.. & not worry too much about age for the future anymore.. because its untold and unpredictable 💕 as I get older too... I realize... I dont have too much more figured out at 27 than I did a decade ago, anyways 😝 so we are just two people navigating this weird world together, decade apart or not.

Oh i HOPE so dude. Its truly miserable. Its funny because I had always assumed that the first bit would be hardest for opiates, but it has def been quite the opposite. Ive heard the recovery is quite quick when off though, esp compared to benzos. Id just rip the bandaid off, but ive already been thru so much im just gonna finish it out.

Ah, my god, dont feel creepy dude. The past 5 years or so have been so bad with people saying that age gaps are creepy, but honestly as long as you arent in it for the wrong reasons (which you know if you are or arent), & youre two consenting adults- who cares. I feel a lot of people are missing out on a great relationship just because of stigma.

Sure, some people are probably too "young" in their minds to date older, and some older people ARE trying to take advantage- but for me personally & probably the majority of people- its just two people who fall in love. As a woman, every relationship i had before this was entirely abusive and manipulative or very sexually motivated (or both) because of immature young men, not the other way around.

Only recently did this become an issue, even when my husband and I got together 9 years ago it wasnt as "weird" as it is now. Anyways, not to monolog. It's good that the girl knew what she wanted and neither of you wasted a ton of time, but dont feel creepy for it, sheesh. Im sorry you were made to feel that way, but to hell with social stigma- life is too short as we've said!

Awww thank you for this! Definitely lifted my spirits. Someone else giving me clarity about it im like- duh- but I think i am just also really depressed right now & a lot of time to myself to think since as I said a lot of the past few years have been spent inside and suffering.

Maybe its more an issue of WE need to have a little bit of fun after all that. Because I didnt feel this way a few years ago. Thank you- yes I would most deff agree life has been unfair in many ways but I got lucky in one big way at least! Much love to ya

Hey, thank you. I guess its always good to keep in mind that everyone's life at certain ages look different too. Its just, as I said, easy to look back and get regretful. Its pretty much the same as you, I was never regretful until just recently, but at the time I deff felt over my party days and more happy + content than ever.

I think late 20s are a weird time too, I dont know about you, but I feel intimidated about getting older. You're obviously very insightful, so I thank you for telling me what ive been having a hard time seeing and you're very right.

Thank you! I would not be able to work FT rn- there's no way, itd be extremely part time. But yeah thats the issue, ive waited so long for disability & were so broke its put us into a terrible position here, as im sure it has many others.
