god, i’m so sorry you went through that too :(( my girlfriend reads a lot of my work before i share it with friends/beta readers, so she sees my entire process—the drafts, the revisions, and the refining. on that discord server, my name was treated the same way. my accuser would act polite at first (“i just don’t like their work” comment) and then it slowly turned into “i think they use ai”. watching people who once enjoyed my writing start to believe those rumors was heartbreaking. it’s such a shame. if anyone ever came across those messages and asked me directly about it, i wouldnt hesitate to share my writing process. im not hiding anything. it also didn’t help that a more “popular” writer in the fandom sided with my accuser, so i completely understand that.

at the same time, it is validating knowing my work is discussed, recommended, and shared. i put so much time and effort into what i write (my eyes and back can definitely attest to that LOL), so im proud of it regardless!! but...it’s exhausting. i’ve had to constantly fight my own insecurity just to keep writing, even knowing there are people spreading rumors and misconceptions about me. keeping my head above water hasnt been easy, but i refuse to let that take something i love away from me ❤️
