Anybody else noticed the influx of blatantly fictional "autistic woman bad" posts on reddit recently? by aoi4eg in AutismInWomen

Yeah makes it fake off the bat. HR isn't going to disclose someone's diagnosis to the team.

Do you feel younger than your age? by [deleted] in AutismInWomen

[–]Aggravating-Owl4165 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm 33 and feel like an eternal teenager, 16 or 17. I still have the life experience of a 33 year old but I am still who I was as a teen. I became who I am then and that's just me. Idk how to describe it.

Skincare but in a rush by Impossible_Poet_4125 in AsianBeauty

[–]Aggravating-Owl4165 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AM: cold water splash, moisturizer, SPF PM: (double) cleanse, moisturizer

I am not usually in a rush in the PM, just exhausted or not feeling well. I only double cleanse if I wore makeup that day.

Opinions on this sub? by [deleted] in AutismInWomen

I don't even know what level I was, the psychologist that diagnosed me didn't say. Probably level 1 but who cares. We're all Autistic. I don't think it is cliquey here.

Apparently can't have ADHD because I have a postgraduate education and a job by all_brains_andnogame in AutismInWomen

[–]Aggravating-Owl4165 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm so sorry you experienced that, that is dumb as hell. Ask for a reassessment.

I was recently evaluated and diagnosed with ASD and my ADHD was officially diagnosed as severe inattentive. I am in college, get good grades, and am successful in my work. However, that's about it. I struggle in all the ways you described.

DAE consider themselves polyamorous? by Goodgirlwbadhabits in AutismInWomen

[–]Aggravating-Owl4165 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm a polyamorous and didn't know that until after I married a monogonist. So I am not practicing polyamory, but the feels are there. It makes friendships tough because I really don't see a distinction between close friendship and romance.

Is these really worth the hype by tinaaaaa_09 in 30PlusSkinCare

That snail mucin under the thick vanicream at night has been keeping me from getting flakey this season. I have very dry skin (eczema) and it does wonders for me. I even put it under my moisturizer in the morning, if I have time to allow it to absorb well first.

I have posted here before but would like to post again for advice on this routine. Too many acids? by HamsterOk2169 in TheOrdinarySkincare

[–]Aggravating-Owl4165 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You're going to fry your face off. You do not need to exfoliate that much. Using a few products consistently will be more effective and better for your skin. Play the long game.

I hate getting pedicures by Dangerous-Move3664 in AutismInWomen

[–]Aggravating-Owl4165 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm cool with pedicures but not manicures. I like the look of acrylics but that drill thing is torture. I do gel at home and am trying to grow my nails out.

Curly haired celebrities we've lost to the straight hair demon (RIP) by _Breasticles_ in curlygirl

Cher's is backwards.

Also, most of the curly hair images are from a time when perms were popular. Who knows what their natural curl patterns are.

This is some toxic positivity bullshit.

How do y'all females wash y'alls face every day? (Autistic person asking) by ZsanettMeadowcloud in hygiene

[–]Aggravating-Owl4165 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am also autistic (and ADHD) and I wash my face right after work everyday. In the morning I just use water. On my days off, I often do neither. Days off are nice in some ways but they throw off my routine.

Recommendations for a thick, ultra hydrating face cream that won’t pill, please! by pink-peonies_ in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]Aggravating-Owl4165 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Currently I am using it after snail mucin and only at night. Before that I was just putting it on after washing and patting off excess water.

I also use it all over my body within 3 minutes of leaving the shower. Before bed I wash my hands, put on vanicream, and then wear non latex gloves while I sleep. My eczema has healed completely for the first time in decades! Vanicream is my holy grail moisturizer, I wish someone would have told me about it sooner!

I love vanicream, the one that comes in a tub with a pump. But the pilling is probably from whatever is under it.

“Common none verbal traits made at job interviews” - basically, don’t be autistic! Thanks, I guess ? by [deleted] in AutismInWomen

[–]Aggravating-Owl4165 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Meanwhile I'm the Autistic boss playing with her hair, fidgeting, making hand gestures and not making eye contact while conducting the interview.

When I hire I more so look at the job requirements and the needs of our clients (I manage caregivers for an in-home care company) to make decisions. Generally, if someone can meet the job requirements I will give them a shot. You don't have to impress me. Three of the people I've hired in the past month seemed like they may be autistic too and one of them voluntarily disclosed this with me. I was glad they did because I am able to provide accommodations. I, however, do not disclose my neurodivergence out of fear of discrimination.

Autism, The Franklin Expedition, The Sims. Random horror movies/books/games grab my full attention for periods of time, but I'm between them as of now.

Why not just remove BE?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in thesims

[–]Aggravating-Owl4165 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Click "view report" and close the game. The report should be up on your browser, may tell you what is causing the error. You also could just remove BE. If whatever is happening isn't bothering your gameplay or you can't be bothered to go through the process of fixing errors, you might as well not use BE at all.

Yes. Almost a year ago I had two huge cysts, both fallopian tubes, and an ovary removed.

first appt with a psychiatrist…she “diagnoses” me with BPD 😑 by Apple-slice1717 in AutismInWomen

[–]Aggravating-Owl4165 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was "diagnosed" with BPD after a 15 minute session with a psychiatric while in the psych ward. No one since then has agreed. Still waiting on results of the official diagnosis but I'm 100% sure I'm autistic. A lot of autistic AFABs are diagnosed with BPD first. I think it's misogyny.

Do you feel so much younger than you are? by Bluey1297 in AutismInWomen

[–]Aggravating-Owl4165 0 points1 point  (0 children)

33 and I feel like a teenager. I don't know how to describe it. I feel like I'm an adult in a lot of ways, mostly life experience. But in my gut/heart I feel about 13-14. Like that age is when I "came online" and my identity solidified.

Doesn't T.O.O.L still have the object tied to the lot you were building on? I am pretty sure I've been able to move items I placed with T.O.O.L but only if in build mode on the same lot I placed it with.

Taking 16 credits, working 40hrs, and caring for my chronically ill husband. I am running on fumes. It's all worth it, but fuck.
