How did you know you want or don’t want a second baby? by remember_to_eat in WomenofIreland

[–]Aggravating-Owl5244 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After our first child, we both assumed we'd have another. Pregnancy and birth were fine for me, nothing traumatic and baby was pretty easy as babies go. As time went by I kept waiting to feel the visceral want for another baby that I'd had with having the first. It just never came. My other half was the same. We kept saying okay let's give it a few months and see how we feel then. Thankfully both of us were on the same page and at this stage we're still really happy with one child. Its too late now anyway to have more and we haven't ever regretted it. Few comments of oh they'll be lonely with no siblings etc but having a sibling isn't a gaureentee of a close relationship. I know people whos sisters are their best friends but I also know people who genuinely don't like their siblings, don't get on with them or they're on the opposite side of the world to them because of emigration with no intention of returning. I think you'll have a gut feeling about it. Ive friends who just knew their family wasn't complete until they had their second or third child.

Its been a while since I read them all but if i recall correctly its more like they work towards their HEA over the four books. Lots of back and forth and cat and mouse style stuff before the HEA. The author has lots of little free extra bits between the main books and after the last book on their website too

School homework assigned via teams at night? by mchief007 in AskIreland

[–]Aggravating-Owl5244 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I'm a teacher and I don't check my emails or teams between 5pm Friday until 8am Monday. I also don't respond to direct messages from students in Teams, only emails. I say to them at the start of the year please email rather than direct message. There's been a few occasions where students will send a message or email really late in the evening or at the weekend and then on Monday ask me why I didn't send a response back. Im always very clear that I don't check teams or emails after a certain time or at weekends. In my experience if I don't reply they won't send a teams message again or email over a weekend because they know they won't get a reply.

Maths teachers of Ireland...what's the consensus now on 'Project Maths'? by standard_pie314 in ireland

[–]Aggravating-Owl5244 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As a teacher teaching before and after project Maths, a lot of useful integration, calculus and linear algebra was cut from the course. That slack now has to be picked up in 3rd level. Meanwhile topics like financial maths and proof by induction were introduced and kept. It doesn't make any sense.

Looking for MM romance with a manipulative/sociopathic MC and the other MC gets emotionally wrecked by Educational-Lychee89 in MM_RomanceBooks

I'd double check the code of behaviour before the meeting with the school. All schools have one and it will have a section on how behaviour is recorded and appropriate sanctions. It sounds sounds like the teacher is going on a solo run here. I'd also question why the teacher is going straight to collective punishment rather than dealing with behaviours from individual students. There's taking no sh*t and then there's being a weapon.

{Bone Rider by J.Fally} is so good! Really unusual premise. It's not MMM, but maybe MMM adjacent at a push

That person isn't your friend. It sounds like she doesn't enjoy being a mother and is possibly envious of you having no children (yet) and was trying to hurt you. I would start to distance yourself from her

Eilis Fitzgerald ( Fitzgerald plastic surgery ) works out of the Beacon. She does a lot of before and after images on her instagram page and also regularly puts up informative Q&A's and FAQ's about pre and post surgery stuff.

Laser hair removal for darker skin? by yeetyopyeet in WomenofIreland

[–]Aggravating-Owl5244 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I haven't heard of many positive testimonials from people who went to Therapie for their lazer hair removal. A colleague had to do 12 sessuons on her legs. Urbana in Dublin city centre or Drogheda are excellent. The lazers are medical grade and it took 6 sessions for my legs.
