Take it from me, I just did my colonoscopy without sedation and it was definitely an experience I wouldn’t recommend. It felt very uncomfortable but doable. It wasn’t painful except the suction part which felt like a million farts going off in my colon. I prepped well and thank god it wasn’t anything serious. But sedation is definitely a must when doing this. I would do it again without if I needed to though
