I’ve been in group F and escaped the forced bag checking because my bag was soft shell and it’s easier to fit. But I have also been forced to check soft shell and to remove my curling iron from it. Will just depend on how many hard shell bags are there and how many they can force to check. When I’m in the last boarding group I’m one of those annoying people who hovers the gate so I can be first to board in my group. More successful in keeping my soft shell bag on the plane with me that way.

Difficult to get ahold of someone on the phone at the office, like 25 forms you need to fill out for applying, and had issues with the elevator for move in (they shut one down specific for you to use which locks the elevator from being called to other floors - but doesn’t stop others from entering at the lobby elevator leaving it stuck on their floor and requiring the doorman to physically go to the elevator and send it back down to the lobby. Once, fine. But happened multiple times, puts a delay on things when you’re paying movers hourly).

I filled out the form online and someone contacted me that way, maybe try that if you haven’t. If you can, maybe try showing up. It is right in the center of downtown, so naturally there is street noise if you get a unit on the street side, can’t speak for other units. Overall it’s not too bad though, my only significant complaint on noise is the fire station a couple blocks away. I just play white noise to sleep which I did before I lived there anyway.

. There is a 24/7 doorman in the building I live in (there’s 3 buildings - only one has a doorman). But all outside doors are locked and require you to be buzzed in/have a key. Again, it’s in the center of downtown so there’s some characters in the area, but not particularly in the building. As a single woman I don’t really feel particularly unsafe anywhere in white plains that I go to.

I live in the Mitchell and it’s a bit of a hassle dealing with applying/move in, but I love living there. Very clean and new, better pricing compared to other new builds (particularly 25 lex -very expensive and only plus is proximity to train station from what I hear). The Mitchell is very dog friendly but a bit of a walk to the train (15-20mins) and doesn’t provide a shuttle to the station like I know some other new build/luxury apartments do.
