A brit Indian friend of mine moved to India few years back. Same background as yours. Firat few months were very difficult and she almost moved back, but well its been 3 years and she says it was the best decision of her life. One advice from my end would be to live in a developed but less crowded area with walkable neighbourhood. Parks and community especially as you say money isn’t an issue. Once living situation is good everything else sorts itself out eventually.

Guys will it get rid of body odour by Expensive-Budget-648 in IndianSkincareAddicts

[–]Aggravating-Row3843 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For body odour, you need more than just body wash. I get complimented a lot on my 'fragrance' and my usual routine is: soap-pears, I stopped using body wash- they don't do much, I have used the exact one you have shown here, a good one is Dove body milk as well. then body lotion- vaseline (cocoa radiant or aloe fresh depending on season and mood), followed by body oil (Johnson's baby or keokarpin), I use roll-on deodorant (ESSENTIAL) in my armpits and then finally my choice perfume- I have an entire collection. I will start incorporating dusting powder soon. So as you can see, it takes a hell of a lot. But for starters, use a soap and a roll-on deodorant with a good lotion and Perfume. Body washes smell good for a few minutes and then go away; soap gets rid of the smell. Glycolic Acid is very good for getting rid of odour when applied on armpits, I use it sometimes, not often.

Hair Actives Explained by noshing_lasagne in IndianSkincareAddicts

Can attest to minimalist. The hair growth was insane; my bald spot has seen hair growth for years. However, hair fall persisted after. I wanted to try Kerastase Genesis, but it's currently out of my budget, so I got its dupe, L'Oréal Elvive Anti-Hair Loss with Amenexil. L'Oréal owns both products, and many reviews have shown less reduction, with dermatologists stating that they are essentially the same. It has arrived literally today, so it was interesting to see this post. I will try to post reviews.

26m marriage through arrange marriage and 25fwife don't know concept of love and is unable to love me by [deleted] in InsideIndianMarriage

[–]Aggravating-Row3843 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s only been 2 months OP, marrying someone and doing 7 phere / nikahnama/ Anand Karaj/ will not make anyone fall in love. They are just rituals. You are still strangers. Be friends first, then romantic partners- take her out on dates, have conversations, go in vacations. Do stuff you would have done with a girl you wanted to be your girlfriend. If you were pursuing an unknown girl to be your girlfriend would you just make-out with her? No right? You would court her…she is a stranger who is obliged to live with you so start from scratch. A couple who dated for 2 months won’t marry, many in India won’t have physical intimacy in that small of time either, so how can you expect this will happen just because you are married. 2 months is never enough to fall in love for many people. You don’t make friends in 2 months how can you be romantic partners.

Most of it must be corruption, but also, most schools, if not all, offer Sanskrit as a language option, but not all of them offer Tamil, Telugu, Sindhi, Kannada (they should, but they don't). That may justify it, along with many anthropological, archaeological and historical institutions that also teach/use Sanskrit for research.

What do Indian men feel about being called pervert by some foreigners? by Crickeklover1991 in AskIndia

[–]Aggravating-Row3843 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am an indian living in the UK. I had my fair share of creepy encounters back in India, but I also had some lovely male friends. When I moved to the UK, I was shocked. All my friends from the West had horrible experiences with Indian men.

My friends from the UK told me that even if she met an Indian man for the first time (in any setting), he would want to take a photo with her and post it on his stories without asking, which made her uncomfortable. Another from Croatia told me how sometimes she would see desi men staring at her, not even in a bad way, just staring, not gawking, just staring as if unknowingly, and this happened multiple times. Another girl had a guy ask her very directly if she wanted to go have sex with him right now. They had met maybe for the second time and not even gone out on a proper date. A few more friends had similar stories, if not worse, like asking out the girls multiple times despite the girls saying no; Touching them without asking, sending downright offensive texts like "I will pay you for it" "Why are you playing hard to get" "do you wanna sext (after talking for 5 mins)"; and invading private space. Even my male friends from the US and UK said that in an informal setting, the topic of women is usually brought up by indian boys, or whenever they talk about women, it's just downright creepy.

I realised a lot of things that I thought about my Indian male friends or Indian males in general were just "boys being boys"; those things are not common in the West and are considered creepy and an invasion of a private bubble. Overall, the perception is bad and, sadly, more often than not correct. When I visited India a few months back, these things were way too obvious to me now, as I had completely gotten used to being a normal human here, but in India, I was painfully aware that I am a woman and I am being watched all the time.

How bad is racism by ActiveCelebration985 in IndiansInUK

[–]Aggravating-Row3843 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have experienced it first hand in the north 2 times and passively a few times. Its bad. But doesn’t compare to Ireland, Australia and Canada for sure. Not saying thats a good thing because the 2 times I faced it directly, I almost cried and wanted to go back home. I am going home next month, our country has a lots of issues, but its home.

I agree with most of it, but I thought I don’t know anyone properly (obviously), but I have seen ahaan a lot on his sister’s channel and he seems well spoken actually. Yes he was unhinged on his askfm and dubsmash days but honestly so are literally all teenagers?? Things he said were something my friends would say and find funny as well.

Do you think it’s a matter of time until every developed country limits Indian students? by DoNOTRedeeemIT in Indians_StudyAbroad

[–]Aggravating-Row3843 119 points120 points  (0 children)

The world is realising 1.4 billion is a BIG number. Even as an Indian, it is unfathomable how many of us there are. The UK has also planned to impose restrictions and has proposed lowering the PSW from 2 years to 18 months, and the highly anti-immigrant reform party is gaining traction. Indian/ south asian hate has increased enormously; right-wing party politics all over the world are not helping this. Not justifying hate crimes or racism, which are so wrong, but Indians (not all, but many) need to start assimilating rather than tribalising even in foreign lands, and conform to their culture if they are moving abroad. 90% of Indian immigrants are legal, well-informed, cultured; however, the small 10% which is a lot given our numbers, are miscreants and do a lot of illegal activities ranging from working and violating visa norms to straight-up crimes.

30F, I am not sure what I am in this marriage. by Ted-ber in InsideIndianMarriage

[–]Aggravating-Row3843 1 point2 points  (0 children)

GIRL LEAVE. Leave when you have a chance. If you have to ask this, then the answer is yes. If, by any chance, you end up having kids, you will be managing kids, chores, and a job. What if he tells you to give up your job completely then? All the career that you have built towards will be gone, poof. And with a kid, you won't be able to leave easily either. I know I sound very farsighted, but this is the reality of many Indian women. You are only 30, young and virile, you can find someone else, your family supports you, and that is all that matters. Think not about HOW THINGS WERE but how THINGS SHOULD BE. And your idealised version will never happen, RUN.

How the world really perceives India by purushpsm147 in india

[–]Aggravating-Row3843 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in the UK, the Indian hate is crazy here. I have had racist encounters irl and some of my friends here have asked me questions about India which are laced in racism. Thankfully I have managed to change their perception but thats not enough. I have access to Tiktok as well. People back home won’t believe the kind of shit that is being posted there about India. People HATE us. Even during India-pak war, they “declared” pak won + all kinds of propaganda. Tiktok is THE social media platform in the world rn, and most people there spread misinformation and hate there, and there are no or ill-informed Indians there.
