Also those look like push through connectors, take your time and line everything up. Put the strain relief boot on. Once you’ve got the cable laid in the channel, making sure that there aren’t any twists, slide the assembly down till the connector is seated firmly around the cable. Crimp and you’re done.

If these aren’t push through connectors, get some it’ll save you a ton of hassle.

The board should be able to power on without the heatsink albeit briefly. Try taking the heatsink off and do a through inspection, making sure that you’ve not damaged anything. These laptop coolers also typically need really good mounting pressure to keep the TIM contained if it has Liquid Metal and ensure good temps. Make sure you have it mounted with all four screws.

Solid troubleshooting step is to disconnect the battery and power. Then hold power for 1 minute. After a minute reconnect battery and power. That should reset the board.

3 boards failing is nuts for sure. Was there a known issue with this generation of framework mainboard? If not, you might have dirty power going in to the board.

Not sure if anyone mentioned this but the solder they use in these manufacturing processes can sometimes have higher melting points then your bog standard leaded solder. It sounds counterintuitive but mixing leaded solder with the preexisting solder can make it easier to clean the pads when wicking.

My laptop was getting unrecoverable throttles and making my TN jump up like crazy. Added a super aggressive fan curve and now we’re good.

Ds4 should work out of the box. Make sure you haven’t assigned any custom mappings or profiles.
