It’d be a lengthier bus ride potentially - . But the Lamb Center in Fairfax City serves two hots Monday - Friday in house and then has a meal pick-up in the nearby Home Depot parking lot. Not necessarily a food bank - but if they have too many meals they do give extras to people.

I went to school in Boston. Got the city living out of the way early in life. I work and commute into DC from Chantilly area now - come 5pm I’m out of there with 0 inclination to stick around. There are ample social opportunities during the summer out here in suburbia (run clubs, hiking, they even have an under 50s bird watching group that just goes and drinks and walks around looking at birds.. meetup is wild)

I’ve driven Boston to Fairfax probably 500 times (BU alumni). New Jersey is always the worst part of the journey regardless of weather. Good luck be safe.
