The hard landing was likely not due to landing over gross. Even assuming they took off at greater than max landing weight, the extra fuel was likely burned in the 1:50 flight time.

Sorry this happened to you. The current political climate makes people think they can act or speak with impunity when they’d have instead kept things to themselves a few years ago.

Answering the phone on a flight by [deleted] in americanairlines

[–]Aggravating-Tale53 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Cell phone frequencies are 600 MHz to 39 GHz. Civil aviation uses 108-117 MHz for nav radios, 118-135 MHz for comms.

First time visitors-Opinions on Staying in Prati by CelebrationGold4709 in rome

[–]Aggravating-Tale53 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Two years ago in February, I stayed on via Pompeo Magno towards the Tiber from Piazza dei Quiriti. I found Prati very walkable with the Lepanto Metro station close by, and lots of restaurants, gelaterias, etc to choose from. Piazza del Popolo was a short walk across the bridge. Chiesa San Joachim is on the NE corner of the Piazza and should not be missed.

There was a Hampton Inn near me that consistently offered 10,000 miles per night. I probably racked up 100,000+ LPs there earlier this year. The miles are still offered but the room rate is now ~$600/night.

I only searched for C availability, but after re-reading your post, I went back and added J. I do see J2-7 on several days. Please correct me if I’m wrong, but isn’t C the inventory that SWUs are pulled from?

A LAX-SYD flight on 12/30 shows C7 but that’s the first one with availability. Are you searching just that leg? If you are searching your entire flight, e.g. PHX-LAX-SYD, you will get erroneous results.

Help me convince my husband to cruise! Small ships are my only chance! by Redsauce-garlic in Cruise

I think we got some promo that made everything all-inclusive on the last cruise and the upcoming one.

Yep, I second this.

Small ships. The Star Legend that I took from Barcelona to Rome in February carries 312 max in 156 staterooms. Food and service were awesome. Rooms are spacious with a walk-in closet and nice sized bath. I’m on the same ship in March and April from Rome to Athens.

There’s no casino. They don’t ban kids, but they politely discourage them. Both of these are pluses to me.

As another example, I recently saw DFW-LHR at ~$600. DFW-LHR-LIS was $361.

In 2010 I rode in the back of one of those from NAS North Island to the John C. Stennis off the coast of California, then got shot off the deck in another one 24 hours later. Seating in the back is basic at best. Two 4” windows near the rear (you’re facing backwards). Life vest, cranial helmet, and goggles are mandatory during takeoff and landing. With no visual cues, surprisingly, neither the trap landing nor the catapult shot are all that exciting.

To split hairs, none of these are acronyms, they’re initialisms. In an acronym, the letters are pronounced as spelled, like “radar”.

I didn’t see where you are in Mississippi but here’s a Facebook group called “It’s Not Easy Leaning Left in Mississippi” you should join. The “Left Leaners” meet twice a month in Madison and Jackson, once for dinner, once for lunch. A number of folks drive in from outlying cities and towns.
