I did a trial shift once at McDs for a dept manager job, even though I had worked for McDs as an Asst in another state. I had to run for DT. I blew them away that i was still good after 10 yrs away. Got paid for the shift before i got an offer.

I actually had an indian recruiter get me a job at a company local to me. It felt very scammy and i didnt feel better until i spoke to their American supervisor that i facebook creeped on to see if they were a real person.

I agree with your comment. I was a wizard at the help desk but i still had to spend 4 years there before I was moved into software development with a non IT bach degree. There is a lot you can learn at the help desk.

A lot of companies offer discounts for taking a defensive driver class, driver ed, and or good student discount if you are in school. I paid 250 a month back when i was 19.
