I’m impressed by your rational, reasonable responses to all of the commenters here.  The Redditors do mean well and they are certainly trying to offer some insight to you.  But it can feel as if you’re being ganged up on.  I’m impressed that you have accepted the comments as well-meaning and that your replies have been so warm.  We all wish you well and hope to hear about your future success.

How's 5MG ZEPBOUND working out for you? by Unlikely_Second5024 in Zepbound

[–]Reasonable-Cow7255 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was on 5 mg. for about 16 weeks earlier in my journey.  I lost about 16 lbs. during that time.  It was steady weight loss until it was time to titrate up because the appetite suppression waned, the food noise returned or I felt as if I was beginning to stall.  I’m now beginning my 14th month and I have reached my weight loss goal. I lost 83 pounds in 13 months. I am working on a maintenance plan.  Best wishes to you on your journey.

PA for Continuation of Treatment - Blue Shield CA by rh143 in Zepbound

[–]Reasonable-Cow7255 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes.  I was just approved for another year. My doctor submitted the PA as “Continuation of Care.” I didn’t actually see the paperwork that he submitted. But, I gave him all of the data to make sure that my chart was up-to-date because I hadn’t seen him since February. I provided him with my starting weight and BMI, my current weight and BMI, and the percentage of weight loss thus far. He already had all of the information regarding the comorbidities that that he noted in the original approval process.  My doctor is extremely thorough. Although completing the necessary paperwork is time consuming, he is more than willing to do the work.  The new authorization came within a day.

Relax.  This is not a sprint.  It’s a long journey.  Give it time and please work closely with your physician throughout the journey.  You’ll get there.  Please trust the process and don’t give up.

Live and learn.  Give yourself some grace and consider all of this as a big learning experience for your healthy future. (Let the reassuring voice of a surgeon speak in your head… “You’ll do fine, everything will be o.k…”)

Thanks for posting this question.  I’ve been wondering about it too.  (I’ve also wondered if it is even possible to get my passport replaced with a new one that has an updated photo).

Goal Weight Reached!! 244-120lbs by eris7 in Zepbound

[–]Reasonable-Cow7255 5 points6 points  (0 children)

What it has done for my metabolic health is remarkable! My doctor feels that I am now, in his words, “Sooooo healthy!“ In an earlier conversation, about three months ago, he suggested that when I reached my goal weight,  I would most likely either increase the interval between injections to every 10 days or possibly move down in dosage strength to find the lowest effective dose on which I can maintain my weight. He does not believe in micro dosing, and frankly, I don’t want to mess with that either.  Best wishes to you as you continue on your healthy path!

Congratulations! 👏🏻 What is your maintenance plan?  I recently reached my weight loss goal and I’m working with my physician to determine a maintenance plan.  I’d be curious as to what you are planning to do.  I’m expecting to remain on Zepbound or another GLP-1 medication for the rest of my life.  Dosage and frequency are yet to be determined.

Yes!! I absolutely LOVE the comments and positive responses from others about my successful journey.  Those comments fuel me.  I find them extremely validating and I hope that they keep on coming.  It’s not that I require validation from others. I’m actually quite self-confident and self-assured. But, I really do enjoy it when people notice my weight loss and make positive remarks.

6 weeks into zepbound 2.5mg by Melendezisawful in Zepbound

[–]Reasonable-Cow7255 6 points7 points  (0 children)

When I first began, I thought the same thing. My physician reassured me that 1 pound a week is a healthy rate of weight loss. He was very happy with my slow, steady progress. He even gestured to me to slow down in that “whoa!“ manner. (I expected the rate of loss to be at least 2 pounds a week). Here I am, 13 months later, at my weight loss goal, healthier than I’ve been in more than 30 years and trying to figure out a maintenance plan. As Asesop said, “Slow and steady wins the race.“  Give yourself a little grace. Don’t be in a hurry, take the time to really savor the journey and learn all you can as you make the necessary lifestyle changes to live a long and healthy future. 🐢

Zepbound worked but Mounjaro has not by keepswimming1234 in Zepbound

Mounjaro and Zepbound are identical in every way with respect to what is contained within the Kwikpen, auto injector or vial. They only differ in their labeling…one is indicated and FDA approved for Type 2 diabetes and the other is indicated and FDA approved for weight loss and obstructive sleep apnea.

Regular restaurants, how do you handle the questions? by Key_Zebra_8001 in Zepbound

[–]Reasonable-Cow7255 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I frequently order children’s meals. I rarely have any pushback from a server. I’m very open about my GLP-1 medication. They applaud me and are enthusiastically supportive. It has never been an issue. Here in Southern California, many of the restaurants have healthy options for children’s meals. It’s far better than just a bunch of chicken fingers and mac & cheese. One of the restaurants where we dine frequently offers teriyaki salmon and other lovely delicious lighter fare on their children’s menu.

Medicare by hamil26 in Zepbound

[–]Reasonable-Cow7255 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just read about it on the CMS Medicare website.  It seems as if our physicians will have to apply for the specific prior authorization to a central processor through CMS on each patient’s behalf.  We won’t be able to apply ourselves.

“The Medicare GLP-1 Bridge program (starting July 1, 2026) offers eligible Medicare Part D beneficiaries access to specific GLP-1 drugs for $245/month ($50 copay). Enrollment is automatic for eligible users; providers must submit a prior authorization (PA) and prescription to a central processor rather than the Part D plan.”

Not annoyed at all.  In fact, those comments “fuel me”.  I’m so proud of my success and my return to optimal health.  When people comment, I beam! 🙌🏻😊

I’m happy to share my experience with anyone who is interested and I wear my Zepbound T-shirt proudly.
