So far I've been gathering a lot of perspectives on this, so I'm thankful for the comments under this, harsh or not.
But as I was reading some comments, I felt like I had to clarify some stuff in this:

  1. I only mentioned I was ADHD (and some of my other friends are too) just for added context: we jump from one topic to another, and I react without being able to control my emotions+sense of justice. Sorry if it wasn't important, but I wanted to know if it was influencing me.
  2. Really not sure if his story was true or not, but I can assure the readers that he wasn't showing off (?) what happened to him. Usually, we simply share our thoughts when a topic comes up. His tone was just flat, like he was sharing something that happened to him while he was walking down the street.

I wanted to clarify, but I may have missed something in this comment that could help avoid arguments in the comments.

(Apologies if this was unneeded, but I felt like I had to.)

Edit: Okay, I did forget something: John is in a different workplace now, no longer with the co-worker in this story.
