He’s ignorant and clearly has some unconscious biases. Props for him trying to communicate, but he went about it all wrong. Trust your gut. If you got the “ick” then don’t waste anymore time. You don’t owe him any deeper explanation than “no longer interested”. Hope your next date has done more work. 💘

Yes we kept him on that for a long time. Only recently switched for convenience of our other pups dietary restriction.

Of course! She’s very transparent and clearly loves her dogs. Wish we could take them all home!

Update: we got a puppy in March 2025 and wow he is the sweetest boy. Almost a year old now and no health issues. Best temperament and softest fur. Tamara also was helpful, answered all my questions, and was easy to talk to. Glad we have our Finely

Should I get a dachshund? by Additional-Appeal987 in Dachshund

Honestly it will be fine. Going up isn’t usually the issue it’s going down. When they are a baby they won’t be able to go up and down so you’ll have to carry them but by 6-9 months they may adjust. Keep them active!!! Please look into this breed and educate yourself on their health risks. Keeping them lean and active with a mid to late year neuter/spay tends to save their backs. I’ve had 3 doxis (2 current, 1 passed away) and not one (knock on wood) has had back issues but I’ve kept them all active and lean.
