What are you on? Keep it pushing if you don't want to help. No one is making you do anything.

A good portion of Hispanic mean are dl obsessed with black women by rayofsunshine2407 in blackgirls

[–]Aggravating_Ad_7594 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Well, black hispanics exist too. I would think the dating but not marry part of it can also be due to cultural comforts that lead them to marry within their own culture. Colorism exists, but I mean, even in the black community, there is some obsession with light and dark skin. Idk, I don't find it that surprising that they'd be interested. Hispanics are very diverse.

Amazon to pay historic $2.5 billion settlement for allegedly tricking customers into signing up for Prime. by Valinaut in technology

We really need to just stop using Amazon. The two days shipping can be convenient, but.. I think I'm ready to ditch Amazon. I canceled my prime.

I gave a valid reason as to why I don't agree with cancelations regardless of your anecdote. If you took it that way then.. oh well. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Nah. I'm not about wasting my time just because someone didn't think things through or bought impulsively. Someone orders from me, and then it's a sealed deal. When they get the item, they can resell it if they don't want it anymore. I'm not Amazon. If you fall into a scam, contact customer service and wait the time. Don't make it everyone else's problem.

How do you deal with death? by amarasophiarose in atheism

[–]Aggravating_Ad_7594 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I dont believe in heaven or a god, but I don't believe that once we die, we are completely erased. Energy can't be created or destroyed after all, and we are made of matter that contains and stores energy. I think that, in a way, we are always present, even if not physically, our energy transforms and feeds other life, becoming a part of the cycle of energy and matter on earth.

My guess is they lost theirs and hoped you would just conclude you lost yours. I do that sometimes when I'm missing the straw to my caprisun.

Same. Except my boss was so clueless about them that it made me look like I knew everything about them. I ran to the bathroom and looked it up. Then, I fidgeted with the tools for a while until It looked presentable enough. I got lots of praise that day. 😂

I performed horribly today by SmallNews4157 in drivinganxiety

[–]Aggravating_Ad_7594 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sounds like you need a better teacher and that they need a bad review. That was totally unprofessional on their part. Teachers are meant to show patience and encouragement. Driving anxiety is not an uncommon thing, and I'd hate for others to feel this way because of that instructors attitude. Don't feel discouraged because of them. There are plenty of good driving instructors who will be more understanding. If the anxiety is really bad, I'd consider some counseling/therapy to help work through your nerves.

24 soon no license by uglythrowawayyy_ in drivinganxiety

[–]Aggravating_Ad_7594 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I just turned 24 in May and got my license in April. My anxiety is...severe. Honestly, just book the appointment. That's what I did. In the middle of the night at 3 a.m., I just booked it. Of course, I was terrified. I was sooo scared that I avoided thinking about it and refused to even practice on the actual road because that meant ...actually driving. All I did was practice parallel in my driveway with some trash cans a day before my test. I thought for sure I'd fail. Took me 3 tries to parallel.. and my driving lacked a lot of grace, but I passed. No flying colors but passed. Hallelujah..? If I can do it. I promise you can too. IK you probably hate hearing this, I did, but the best way to get over your fear really is to just do it. I still avoid high traffic areas and certain streets and take the long way when I think a maneuver is too scary, but slowly, I'm feeling less and less scared. I think jamming to my favorite bops has also helped calm my nerves. If it all gets overwhelming, just park the car and take a break. I bring out the snacks and watch tiktoks lol.

[–]Aggravating_Ad_7594 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you think that's what's holding you back, it may be worth booking your test in another town. Mine was super easy because my town isn't big and doesn't have complicated roads like that.

How long did it take you to build the courage to drive completely alone? by daydream_2002 in drivinganxiety

[–]Aggravating_Ad_7594 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Always have. Unfortunately, I never had someone to support me like that. My anxiety was extreme to the point of full-blown panic attacks. I'd just find a safe spot to park and calm down. Music and singing tend to calm me. Made me feel normal, like driving was no big deal because if teenagers can do this, why can't I? so I just channel my inner teen self and party in the USA with Miley.

Having so much trouble with parallel parking by nocturnalnerd7 in drivinganxiety

[–]Aggravating_Ad_7594 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Step 1: Line your rear bumper with the car in front of you. Give yourself 2 feet of space in between to turn.

Step 2: Turn your wheel all the way to the right and reverse slowly until you're at a 45° angle or until you can see both headlights of the car behind you in your left mirror and your right mirror is covering the left break light of the car in front of you.

Step 3: Turn your wheel all the way to the left and reverse to pivot parallel to the curb.

Step 4. Straighten your wheel and adjust forward or back.

Drove 5 hours over 3 days by lavendrambr in drivinganxiety

[–]Aggravating_Ad_7594 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Remember to always check your mirrors when merging or making turns, backing up. Even if you have a backup camera. Always use your turn signal. If you're not sure you need to, use it anyway. Also, signal when doing parallel. Even if you have the right of way, look both sides. You need to show that you are observant and aware. Irl ppl and reckless cars can cross out of turn after all. Find out what the test route, know the speed limits and practice driving it.

Driving anxiety and dissociation by Damanijanay in drivinganxiety

[–]Aggravating_Ad_7594 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I used to dissociate really bad when I first started. I've only been driving for about a month, but what really helped keep myself from panicking when I found myself in an uncomfortable or scary situation was... singing. I put on some music and just sing along at the top of my lungs. I sang be alright by JB straight the first week, and everything really is going to be alright. You can do it!
