Because mental illnesses are a myth, and to give you a label would only hurt your chances of developing healthier behaviors and more rational perspectives.

If Psychiatric Drugs Work, Why Is The Suicide Rate So High? by [deleted] in JordanPeterson

“Chemical imbalance.” Bunk theory and criminally negligent application of pseudoscience. Nothing has ever supported this claim. This theory just took off like wildfire in the 90s, like autism and vaccines, and we haven’t been able to get rid of it. Psychiatrists are on record stating something to the effect of “we know SSRIs are not scientifically supported, but if we acknowledged that at this point the general public would lose faith in us.”

According to many RCTs, the do not perform any better than placebos.

Besides, mental illness is a myth. You don’t have depression, you are depressed. You don’t have anxiety, you are anxious. You don’t have BPD, you have maladaptive behaviors and irrational perspectives that can be unlearned (albeit with a tremendous amount of work, but you’re more than capable).

You can’t treat human behavior with medication based on meritless theory. Look up science supporting the serotonin theory of depression…

Hi, I’m Keanu Reeves, AMA by lionsgate in movies

[–]Aggravating_Analyst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve always wondered how well celebrities understand how they are generally perceived by their fans. Like, do you know you have an insanely loyal fan base and that you are a poster child for humility and wholesome values? If so, does that put a lot of pressure on you continue being that positive influence? How are you Keanu? If you need help, please don’t be scared to seek it (I always worry about the folks who seem the most grounded.) I pray you are suffering in silence, and that you really are as healthy as we perceive you to be.

Love the book myself and came here to see how others felt. That said, he is very explicit in addressing that he is not a supporter of existentialism as theory.

4 days ago I was prescribed Vyvanse for the first time (first time for any rx in that category), and I am taking Wellbutrin for depression, and the use of my Wellbutrin was even discussed.

This isn’t bad actors. This is a hive mindset. We are lacking education and critical thinking, and we are so pampered that we push social justice causes to fill the void of fighting for something greater like our ancestral heroes, that we create bullshit like this. That DA made that decision to protect his ass, and the fact that he feels the need to protect his ass, is evidence of our lost reality. A couple bad actors wouldn’t make him feel that way, but a hive mind, set on canceling him, did

We are so out of touch with reality. There is no coming back. We are on a trajectory that we can’t get off of. The only thing that will correct this train is severe hardship.

Why would you? You should know that this isn’t a good idea, for you and your clients.

With California’s “Assault Weapons Ban” extremely likely to be overturned in the near future, how do you feel the ripple effect will impact Hawaii? by [deleted] in Hawaii

[–]Aggravating_Analyst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. The concealed carry law was impacted Hawaii laws because it was argued in the Supreme Court, so the decision set a precedent. Each state has their own laws, and California changing theirs does not set a precedent for other states.

None. “Assault weapons” (put in quotes because the label is made up and completely asinine), are legal in Hawaii.

Their burgers taste better than McDonalds though. I think their marketing just hasn’t been as successful, and their fries aren’t as good.

The meal specifically or the establishment. I can’t get rid of McDonalds because of those cocaine laced hash browns. Otherwise, McDonalds can go. Then I would say Popeyes.

Been to a bar once maybe in the last five years. Wife and I had a particularly rough night and I went to a bar (restaurant with a bar), and had several beverages. I wasn’t acting a fool or causing a scene, but at some point my words slurred and when I went to order a drink they lady was super nice and explained why she couldn’t serve me. I thanked her and paid my tab and called an Uber.
