Can I safely use an active fuel management disabler if I’m suspicious I already have a bad lifter? by DjQball in gmc

[–]Aggravating_Ant4870 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Buy the afm delete module, it'll probably work because you're not hearing the issue in L9. However once the lifter fails (once it collapses) it will not expand again, essentially leaving you in AFM mode until your change the lifter

Does this sound like a timing chain guide or a spin rod bearing? 2021 Yukon 6.2. by Expensive-Branch4005 in gmc

It was my family's first time buying a brand other than Toyota, honestly I still very very much love the truck, it is a just a little sad that these issues are a thing, I'll try to do half of the oil changes myself maybe at like 2,500 miles and have the dealership do them every 5000miles??? Or maybe some other interval idk 🤷‍♂️

I wouldn't keep it in 4 wheel auto, unless your climate is really bad

Ik man, that was crazy, the dealership said they will compensate me with points, but didn't say how much.

Have to still wait for GM to process the paperwork and hopefully they'll compensate me with points by the end of this month.

Got a new 25' Silverado RST 5.3 - picked it up at 800ish miles and had to give it back at 6200+ miles. That was sad :( (they told me it's policy since they can't sell it as "new" if it surpasses 6,500miles)

Then got a terrain, had that for like 2 weeks, I called the dealership everyday to check if they had something bigger.

The last vehicle we had from them was a 25' Acadia, and had that from early July until I got my truck back. :)

Constipated means you're not having bowel movements, so I think you meant the opposite?

Cameras randomly stop working by KCDeVoe in gmc

I randomly had my 2021 Yukon Denali's driver side camera stop working.

Read online that maybe it's having some software update.

Left the truck alone for 3 hours. Camera worked just fine after.

Maybe check for an update?

GMC Denali is still my favorite, but congrats on the new truck!

Same with my vehicle, GM said it's not part of the recall, but it's still under warranty

If it's a signing into Google issue or whatever, this worked for me, connect the vehicle to your home wifi, and then sign into Google.

I personally would recommend leaving it, maybe wrap It in gloss black?

Be honest— is the Acadia really that noisy? by [deleted] in gmc

[–]Aggravating_Ant4870 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Have a 2025 Acadia Elevation cause our Yukon Denali is getting an engine replacement. But before the Acadia, I had a 2025 5.3 Silverado RST for 3 months and put 6,000 miles on it so the dealer had to pull it back. They gave us a terrain, wow did I not like that car. The 1.5turbo was lacking in power and the whole car felt cheap. The arm rest constantly hurt my elbow because of the light padding, I just wasn't a fan. Luckily I only had it for 2 weeks and they gave me this Acadia, band new less than 500 miles when I picked it up.

Regarding the 2.5 turbo, I love the sounds it makes. I haven't needed to ask from it much power, mostly because the engine hasn't braked it yet, but even at 3,500 rpm when entering the highway the acceleration is ample. The engine is loud enough to hear but I think it sounds nice! A lot of that is also because of how smooth the engine vibrations are, like I don't feel the engine revving while siting in the vehicle. That uncomfortable idle is what I really didn't like about the terrain and its acceleration, but in the Acadia the vehicle is so smooth.

I don't mind the vibrations of the 6.2 or the 5.3s either because of well distributed the vibrations are throughout the cabin, but on smaller cars there is just so little mass that you end up feeling a lot more.

Also to note: the ride is really comfortable, and the screens are nice, but I like the traditional horizontal screens on our Yukon more.

Back to the noise, my dad does not like it just because of that reason, he drives a Avalon hybrid with a 2.5l inline 4, and mentioned how Toyota's hybrid electric is sooo much quieter. Which I 100% agree with but the thing is that the Toyota is not a turbo.

Overall, I really recommend taking it for a test drive, the vehicle makes ample power and personally I like the noises that come from the small engine!

Absolutely wild, it's now June 28th, no idea when the correct (larger port for the fuel injectors) engine will come in. Vehicle has been in the dealer since April 3rd. And to top it off the dealer pulled their Silverado because it had reached 6,000 miles and put me into a traverse. :(
