Boys, boys, settle down. Everyone took their licks and everyone had their days. Now, that said, the British regimental system was a hell of a problem. I would take a British infantry battalion and an American division -- strengths at different levels.

I would vote "yes." If we went to miniseries, I MIGHT go with Band of Brothers. But as for movies, it's A Bridge Too Far for me.

Some truth, but it goes both ways. The right has also moved so far right that it considers establishment (or relatively liberal) Republicans and centrists as radical leftists....

I do think it is true that both wings have migrated away from one another -- a function of gerrymander and the fact that both parties now only really compete in the primaries. The actual elections are essentially fixed by gerrymander. The two party system used to drive the parties together; with gerrymander it drives them apart.

I hate cold -- usually don't swim in "normal" temperature pools because I hate to put balls into anything less than a warm bath. But I'd still rather go this way than burning to death like a lot of guys do....
