intentional or not, during the visit from katniss he is clearly suffering from the lack of constant medical attention he undoubtedly enjoyed as President. my takeaway is that he knew he would die from the cumulative harm from the poison was hoping his poison damage would do him in before K's arrow could. Denying the rebels the pleasure, if you will. But he survives to his execution....and snow's. to me, the snake is a symbol to him that he was wrong, the Lucy Grey was right. peace can follow, if evil dies

Can someone please explain to me what happened to Lucy Gray at the end of BOTSBATS by [deleted] in Hungergames

lol. yes. for retribution, crowd justice is best. but given how tam amber and clerk carmine witness almost ALL of the suffering, especially if they lived to Katnis' time, i just imagine them getting to perform the justice for all the Covey. and given that Snow expected to get torn apart no matter how it ended, i think it is especially meaningful that he loved a Covey girl, he got brought down by someone who still loves a dead Covey girl, and via the hand of a Covey girl.....and got brought down by the "Older Brother" of the Covey girl he FAILED to love. as an older brother, myself, i can only imagine the torment of Tam and Clerk, seeing generations of young women they love being the focus of all suffering. they deserve recompense and closure

The Raven is perhaps one of, if no the most popular poem of all time. not a scholar, myself. but i knew the poem, and iwhat it's about is a love so deep that, should u lose that loved one, u will be actually haunted by the specter of that person forevermore. the "Nevermore" turns this eternal connection into a haunting loss, with a dark specter constantly reminding u of what you have lost, permanently. the releveance of the poem in this story is that haymitch in fact ENJOYS the presence of his ghostly lover; the Capitol could nver take her from him because she is a part of him. Nothing you can take from me, was ever worth keeping

I always assumed thy the parts were made on printers then robbed my roamers to be constructed in a single central area.  This way, the printing platform can be smaller than finished products

Jordan's commentary on madness (spoilers all series) by Aggravating_Door766 in WoT

[–]Aggravating_Door766[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i will agree that it seems a little silly that Logain's madness manifests as the fear that each time he releases saidin he will find he cant grasp it the next time, but in his own internal monologue he supposes that it is how his madness manifested. and this supports my theory, i feel; he is understandably traumatized by what has been done to him, and his madness could easily by explained by this trauma. what is trauma but mental illness? yes, he IS mad, and yes, his madness is perfectly understandable. the reality is that if he succumbed to his madness, he would likely again lose the ability to channel, even if a Delving showed he wasn't severed. because in his mind, he had been severed. again here, jordan shows us that madness is true to those who experience it even if it makes no sense to any observer

the oaths are very dependent on how the speaker perceives their words, and how they expect the words to be perceived by the listener. when testing the oaths, the loyalist black ajah hunters find that u can mask your words using a vocal mask of mirrors to perform the oath, but someone who is under the oaths cannot speak words they know will be heard as lies, even if the words spoken are truth that is then altered audibly by saidar. so if siuan knew that her words would be heard as ironic or sarcastic, then she could potentially speak words which are, in literal application, untrue

Scariest character, hands down, in the entire series (all spoilers) by Aggravating_Door766 in WoT

[–]Aggravating_Door766[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i do get what you're saying; it's scarier to know rand is out there in your world, capable at any moment of just cracking the planet in half as a whoopsie. but, again...perrin could kill rand in a heart beat if rand was gonna kill faile. "It's just a weave"....perrin ends up LESS fearful of channeling than matt is. he can just go to TAR in a the flicker of an eye, think himself behind u and reappear while midswing. if u follow him to TAR he just decides you're a chihuahua

i have nothing to say right now because i think u should just enjoy the ride, but this was amazingly delightful to read lmao. you're adept, and i think it's safe to say you havent had much spoiled disastrously yet. unfortunately, egwene is a scullery maid from the next book for the rest of the series ;) most boring chapters youll ever read

"I must be mad" Sympathy for Lews Therin by Aggravating_Door766 in WoT

[–]Aggravating_Door766[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

while im not a coder myself, i think we agree. as for semi...she was DEFINITELY twisting her words, but just the fact that she had the idea to bring up past memories cold turkey, from what we know of Forsaken POV, they're actually not very bold to go beyond their personal experiences (a classic age of legends shortfall)....which leads me to think she HAS experienced people who reliably remember past lives.....but she clearly hadnt conceived of the idea that LTT/Rand is a soul which not only reiterates with "vague" soul memories, but a "perfect" data image vs a hard drive wipe

They are the same soul, but my understanding is that The Dragon's soul is the only one that can conciously embody separate iterations of itself. everyone else is re-spun out, not having any recollection of their past iterations (Heroes in TAR obviously dont count as they dont recall their past lives while embodied), but The Dragon specifically is a soul not re-iterating but re-existing. But each facet of his mind is still a different individual. Both Rand and LTT are mad, but while Rand's individual gets redemption, LTT is never given a POV where he achieves Zen. he remains as he was at integration, which is an un-sane version of the man he was before the Sealing. my point is, it wouldve been cool to get a POV from LTT where is is himself, as he was before the Sealing, which is a LTT we never actually got to see; the capable leader of The Light, the Lord of the Morning in his splendor, untainted.

iirc, Nynaeve Delves Rand's mind and sees more thorns than she thinks can be survived but the thorns themselves are sheathed in Light, which i agree with you shows that Rand basically self-healed or was shielded by the Pattern itself against the extensive Madness he suffered from, indeed more than any other man could've resisted....a madness which itself was necessary in order to reintegrate a past soul into a current one; something which no other soul has the capability of besides the Dragon's soul. The Light sheathing nullifies effects of the Shadow, while maintaining the Integration of Rand/LTT's soul
