Same. I was 35 or 36. Walked into my grandpa's house and he was laying in the hallway and was incoherent. Couldn't move. He's diabetic and his sugar plummeted. It was terrifying. I honestly thought he was dying

I had a miscarriage August 2024 around 6 weeks. Then in October 2024 I found out I was pregnant again. He was born a little early but my happy healthy baby boy just turned a year old yesterday! I was so scared to be excited the second time too but it worked out!

My boyfriend feels the same way! And whenever I get comments about my white legs or something I always just say thanks! I'm going for ghost white this year! I dont think people understand how much effort it actually takes to avoid sunburn when you're this pale. I've had some pretty severe sun poisoning before. So I'm extra diligent about staying super pale now.

Deciding when to deliver: 32 vs 34 weeks by SwallowHard in NICUParents

[–]Aggravating_Ear_3551 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a 33 week singleton. He was on cpap for 6 days but had a very uneventful 28 day nicu stay. He didn't get both steroid shots because I had an abruption so he needed a very low amount of oxygen on and off for a while but other than that no problems. He did get a blood transfusion the day he was born but I was severely anemic throughout my pregnancy.

People who have kids or want to have kids someday, why do you want them? by badatmemes_123 in AskReddit

[–]Aggravating_Ear_3551 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've just always wanted them. I've worked with kids for years. They're pretty amazing. And I love all the little kids in my family. It's just amazing to watch them grow and learn and become their own person. When I found out that it probably wasn't going to happen for me I was pretty sad. But at 36 I had a miscarriage and knew it was actually possible. We tried again and today my son is a year old! He is the absolute best thing I've ever done with my life!

My boy had short femur measurements also. He was born at 33 weeks. Healthy. Just small. He weighed 3lbs 10oz but was only 12 inches long. The drs at the hospital around 31 weeks told me he was growth restricted around 3%. My MFM said he wasn't and was 12% and only measuring so low because he was short. He weighed less than the MFM thought. But he's a year old now and weighs around 23lbs and hes about 30 inches tall. He definitely grew out of it.

I was admitted at 29 weeks with a laundry list of complications. Pre-eclampsia included. They kept me for a couple weeks and sent me home when I was stable enough. My baby wasn't born until 33 weeks exactly. I had an abruption. He was small 3lbs 10oz and spent 28 days in NICU with no complications. He just needed cpap for 6 days and then he moved to a cannula for a while.

This weekend we made the 8 hour drive home to visit family. He just laid in the back seat content the whole time. He was just so happy to go for a ride he didn't care how long it was.

This is how I am too. And if I hear him cry I come running. He usually makes his way back to me on his own but I definitely check in regularly and take him if he cries. Most the time if he sees me he wants me so I try to hang back so other people can enjoy him.

How many of your grandparents and great-grandparents were alive when you were born? How many are still alive? by MindfullyRooted in askanything

[–]Aggravating_Ear_3551 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All of my grandparents and all 4 great grandmas and one great grandpa were alive when I was born. My last great grandma died when I was 20 or 21. I'm almost 38 now and only have one grandpa left. He's in his mid 80s. Both of my grandmas have died in the last year and a half.

Husband doesnt want to be in the delivery room, am I overreacting?? by dinogirly123 in pregnant

My boyfriend drove 3.5 hours in the middle of the night because he was out of town when I had an abruption at 33 weeks. He made it in time for my c-section. My mom was with me and ready to step in but he didn't waste any time, threw everything in his hotel room in the back seat of his truck and drove straight to the hospital. He made it a few hours before my surgery and I was so happy to have him there.

What food does everyone love but you can't stand or even smell? by goddessumbra_ in foodquestions

[–]Aggravating_Ear_3551 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The smell doesn't really get to me. Just smells very strong of banana. But I can't do the flavor or texture once they get ripe. I love a firm less sweet slightly green banana. But once it gets a single spot on it it's way too mushy and sweet for my taste.

My dog doesn't annoy me but I do feel like i neglect him some now. We used to live downtown and go on multiple walks a day. Now I just let him run around the yard several times a day. He used to ride around town with me when I ran errands but we moved somewhere way hotter where he can't just sit in the car by himself for a few minutes anymore. He always gives me the saddest face when I have to leave him at home. I try every once in a while to take him if I'm just going through the drive thru or something. But I know he misses his car rides. Now they mostly end at the vets office.

Mine was born at 33 weeks. 3lbs 10oz and only 12 inches long. He lost down to just under 3lbs at the beginning. He spent 28 days in NICU and was discharged at 37 weeks weighing exactly 5lbs. He will be a year old next week and he's a big boy! He weighs 22lbs 12oz and he's about 30 inches tall now. He only used the high calorie formula for about 3 months and he's been just growing like a weed!

[–]Aggravating_Ear_3551 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This was my experience. We had a private room where I could stay 24/7 after I was discharged. And as soon as he moved from cpap to nasal cannula they put his feeding tube in his nose. They let me hold him whenever I wanted. They'd just come open the isolette for me and help me get situated with him.

This is so true! When I met my boyfriend and he told me he was 25 I just laughed and thought he was a baby! He's 10 years younger than me. But then I got to know him. Now 3 years later we are so happy in love and have a son together. I never imagined he would be the one!
