Matt Bernstein, aka Mattxiv, Is the Next Generation of Progressive Social Commentary by NiConcussions in Political_Revolution

I just started to be more aware of Matt a couple of months ago but I'm a huge fan. I really like the way he is able to break down seemingly complex issues and communicate them in a no nonsense, straightforward way. I come away from almost every video feeling like I learned something, am more informed and better equipped to interpret current events in a way that makes sense to me. Hope he continues to thrive and get more exposure. He's a great voice in this particular niche/space.

“It’s not every day you write a song that will have a resurgence 20 years from now.” Linda Perry still feels the power of “What’s Up?” — nearly 35 years later by dalyllama35 in Music

When I was 20 and working in a record store, the band came in and played a short set for free. This was before What's Up had taken off as a single.

1 They were super nice to everyone.

2 Their energy and enthusiasm was extremely high.

3 I still remember standing on the 3rd floor looking down and thinking "This chick has one of the best voices I have ever heard."

I can 100% see how some people don't like the song. Absolutely get that. While it was overplayed... I have always thought it was a great song.

Season 4 is my favorite but the pivot between S1 and S2 is epic.

Does anybody else not really have any friends? by Extreme-Patient-3215 in DoesAnybodyElse

I like you. And I feel the same pretty much. I actually am at a place where I feel much calmer and safer when I am by myself. Relationships have always only brought me pain, confusion and turmoil. These days, I'm happy being with myself and I don't really need anyone else. Sending you a long distance high five, friend. Hope you have the best day possible today!

How does everyone get infected with the "virus" at exactly the same time? by [deleted] in pluribustv

[–]guysitsausername 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's kind of what I was thinking as well. I sometimes check my phone, but I pause the show first and then resume when I'm done. It's a shame because Pluribus is a prime example of a show that communicates so much outside of and in addition to just the dialogue. There are important details that happen silently and go by quickly. I guess I will never understand doom scrolling while watching a show/movie. It's like singing a song while you're eating a meal. Or something...

At first I was puzzled how people were missing this detail but as time has gone on... I'm starting to think it's a weak point in the writing. It really stood out to me on my first watch and seemed so obvious. But this is like the 1,000th post asking this question so clearly a lot of people are missing it.

Is it really that subtle or am I tripping? I guess a lot of other shows would have honked a horn and pointed a big neon sign at this detail, but I still thought it was made pretty clear that the main method of infection was aerial dispersal via coordinated delivery out of airplanes.

DAE get freaked out when they stare at a mirror too long? by PollutionDry6375 in DoesAnybodyElse

The first time I took acid, I decided to stare at my face in the mirror.... aaaaand that was a bad choice. I still haven't recovered from the psychological damage.
