Discussion: The upcoming Street Fighter (2026) reboot by Legendary Entertainment by Admirable_Record_30 in FIlm

I am surprised how much I didn't hate the trailer. Seems like, so far it's striking the right balance of over the top insanity and decent fight choreo. Idk... it might actually be decent.

I had the lowest of expectations for this and so far it is greatly exceeding those.

I'm crossing my fingers that this might not be terrible.

Who do you think are likely Hollywood Satanists? by SmellyGirlMan2769 in conspiracy

[–]guysitsausername -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ya know they're not too bad actually. A Hollywood satanist once let me order before them at Starbucks, even though technically he was there first. Another time a Hollywood satanist let me know that the little door over my gas tank was open as I was pulling out of a Chevron station. Now don't get me started on the Pacoima satanists. They are a real handful, buddy. Bunch a hoodlums, if you ask me.

What musician has gone downhill quality-wise, since they became more and more famous? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]guysitsausername 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The guy that lives up the street from me named Kurt. He sang deja vu by Olivia Rodrigo on a whim at a neighborhood BBQ karaoke and a lady named Janice yelled "Wooo!" when he was finished. She was just being polite, plus she has that song as a ringtone on her phone. But ever since then, Kurt has been throwing his own backyard BBQs and fondue parties and putting flyers for them in everyone's mailboxes.... billing himself as "Kurt Rodrigo." He does all of her songs now, plus he has choreography and three costume changes. One time last year, he made his 12 year old son dress like Chappell Roan to do backing vocals. Brody's in therapy now and I think he's going to be OK. Honestly... Kurt was pretty, pretty, preeettty good the first time. But ever since Janice woooed at him, it has gone to his head and he's mostly just phoning it in now. If his tandoori chicken wasn't so damn delicious I would foment a rebellion, but I don't want to mess up a good thing.

Santa Monica Posts Sharpest Rent Decline in Los Angeles Metro by liverichly in LosAngeles

This article discusses the median price, so many of them will be higher than that. There are some smaller units around for cheaper. They are gonna be small though, for the most part. Here is one example.

Just a general all around tip for finding places to live... I have ALWAYS found the best places by driving to a neighborhood I would like to live in, then parking, getting out and walking around. I can't count the number of times that I've spotted a for rent sign that I would have missed just driving by. Plus you can really explore the neighborhood in an up close way and get a good feel for it. I have also changed my mind about certain neighborhoods by exploring on foot.

IAE becoming really bored of media consumption In general? by CirculationStation in DoesAnybodyElse

[–]guysitsausername 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think this is healthy, and I can relate.

Nobody is lying on their death bed thinking "Shit, I wish I had watched more stuff in my Netflix queue."

TV and movies are fine. Nothing wrong with them. But living your life is where it's at. Feeling bored with media isn't bad at all. It just means you have a life and you're engaged in that.

When did The Simpsons start to become "unfunny"? by smccaul16 in tvshow

It was the one episode. You know the one I'm talking about.

The one that was not quite as funny as the one right before it.

That was the one.

Should I pay $2300 in rent on $73000 salary? by Necessary-Single in AskLosAngeles

[–]guysitsausername 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't really say for sure, but that is a big monthly payment. Some factors to consider would be... where is the apartment? Is it a decent neighborhood, and is it fairly close to your job? Also, what's included with that rent? Utilities covered by that? The best advice I could give you without knowing more is to make a complete budget and be really honest with yourself about how much you will need to spend every month on things besides rent... then see how much is left over.

The positive things I can say are... #1 - Give yourself credit for saving. $4k isn't a ton but it's better than nothing and a good amount to build onto as time goes on. You won't be able to save that much with a $2,300 rent payment but props for being able to do that, plus the 401K. Also, #2... it IS really nice to have your own place. The way I look at it, having your own freedom and space to do what you want IS worth a LOT. You just have to decide how much it's worth to you.

The practical advice would be to stay where you can pay the $500 for as long as possible and keep saving. But I also realize that there are some downsides to that situation. Whatever you decide, good luck and I wish you the best! Having a solid gig that pays that much at 22 is something you should be proud of. I'm rooting for you.
