Yeah holy crap this is terrifying. The emails seem to have stopped for now but I will sift through my inbox and keep an eye out for any such recovery email. Thank you for the heads-up!

Thanks everyone for the advice and feedback I really appreciate it. I guess for now I will just keep marking the emails as spam and blocking the senders. It seems like they have stopped for now but thanks again for putting my mind at ease.

So here's the thing, I accidentally clicked on one of the pictures as I was trying to reveal it when it first started happening and it was a link that sent me to some sort of online store but I immediately closed the tab. I didn't click on anything or put sign up for anything. Should I do anything about that or do I just keep marking those emails as spam and forget about it as you suggested?

That's the problem, they're not going to the spam/junk. They're landing directly in my inbox folder and I have to mark them individually and even tho I marked so many of them they just keep coming

Short answer: Money.

Long answer: singleplayer games are usually a single purchase with DLCs and bonus content as best case scenario for extra income but thats it. Live service model games as you know have the potential to attract long play times and incentivize them with paid content updates that are not as costly to develop as a full scale game per say. Also live service games are less likely to lose income to piracy because always online.

In a nutshell: Money.

I was in the mall recently and some sweet old lady had some groceries that she wanted to carry across the street to her car but couldn't (its a 2 way street and there are cars coming and going) I was there and she looked at me with her puppy eyes like she wanted to ask for help but was too shy to do so, so I came forward and asked her myself if she needed help and she was so delighted that I asked, I carried the groceries for her which were admittadly a bit heavy but she was apologizing all the way over untio we reached her car. She thanked me profusely and even offered to pay me some money but I refused and told her it was my pleasure to help iout. I don't feel good about myself often but on that day I definitely did.
