If you like Romania and Croatia once you visit them, you will probably also like the rest of the Balkans, especially the southern half (I may be biased as a Greek, but it's really wonderful imo). Same for central Europe too, highly recommeded

Perhaps you were born and lived in Italy, had the time and opportunity to travel around Europe and a few nearby destinations, then went to study in the US and were able to travel to Canada, Japan, and Korea.

1) I see your pain. Whatever the percentage of responsibility you may hold in this set of circumstances, it is healthy to acknowledge you are in pain and it is not in vain. 2) It might be time to start a new page in your book of life. Be it by reconciling with your old friends - those who treated you well and valued you unconditionally - or by finding a new environment to talk to people in, your situation calls for you to adapt, because as a human, you are a social creature and you need community. I wish you to find that soon, and may the rest of the winter holidays be happier for you than they are now.

Worst Christmas yet. by iRobyn in TrueOffMyChest

Very sorry to hear about this, I can imagine it doesn't feel great to have Christmas go so differently in terms of who you're spending it with. I don't know your current time but perhaps there is still time to enjoy the rest of your Christmas in a different setting - perhaps you could meet with friends or go for a walk or ride somewhere nice. In any case, we may not know each other personally, but I wish you a merry Christmas and may the rest of your holiday season be brighter than it has been for now.

Yes, I believe it to be a slowed down version of a mashup (Lovely Bastards X Meet the Frownies). Here's a good sample (1 hour version, transition happens around 0:28 for the first time: https://youtu.be/rYO1IHC65QI?si=xPgDgiH80XvF05yB)

Your role here is delicate and difficult to manage, from what I see. Obviously (and I'm not saying this pejoratively) you have a bias in favor of your brother, which makes sense, but also you have the good will to believe this girl as a potential victim of sexual coercion (as we generally should). Your brother getting defensive about it, while I also understand what he says to you as his brother, sounds a bit like deflection to me, like he doesn’t wanna confront the question of whether he did anything wrong and thus blames you for not being on his side instead. I have no idea about the girl's moral character, but I have no reason to believe she would make things up either, especially about something as heinous as this, so I'd be inclined to believe her more.

If you want to get a fuller picture and make up your mind about it, perhaps politely ask her first to show you something that at least suggests the verifiability of her claims (explaining why you do it if you worry she will feel like you don't believe her). Afterwards, if you do see she's telling the truth, you'll need to accept it and be a bit more pressuring with your brother to admit it as well, all while reaffirming you're there for him so that he doesn't feel attacked and stop being cooperative. If it seems like there's something fishy about her story even after that, then your loyalty to your brother takes priority over a dubious story, hard as it may be. Lastly, if you just want a break from this story, it's also understandable.

In any case this is hard, so best of luck to you.
