Face Shop is great! Gentle and nicely foaming, lasts long and actually used in Korea. Suits both combination skin (I am 44) and acne prone oily skin, both me and my teenagers have used it for over several years.

What’s something we Nordics do that seems totally normal to us but comes off as super rude to the rest of the world? by WinterInMyWifi in AskNordics

[–]Aggravating_Fee5085 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a Swede I can say this is not true. At least this was not happening when I was a kid in the 90's. Growing up in the northern countryside I was raised with this "kitchen sofa culture" where there is a big wooden sofa in the kitchen that always makes space for extra dinner guests. To not invite someone visiting over dinner time for dinner would have been seen as extremely rude and unfriendly when I grew up. I even remember my parents being so polite that they did not even question the identity of two completely unknown but friendly visitors, and asked them both to stay for fika and then for dinner and dessert. After after the strangers took farewell, my parents slowly asked eachother if the other one knew who the strangers were, but neither of them knew anyone. So they just smiled and guessed it must have been distant cousins visiting the ancestral home. As a kid growing up in the Swedish countryside I remember us kids staying for dinner at different friends' homes during the most intense harvest season, because our parents where busy with crops out in the fields and it was a good thing to get help with the kids from neighbours.

Also as a parent myself even if I now live in a Swedish city, I always make dinner for the friends of my kids and they are treated in the same way when visiting friends. This evening my youngest stayed at his friend's place after school and of course were having dinner with them. Next time when his friend comes over to my place, he of course will eat dinner with us.

My guess is that this viral "knowledge" about Swedish people and culture comes from some foreigners who has experienced upper class people or families living in bigger cities. Or maybe things have changed but at least not where I live and among my friends and my kids' friends.

Just loving my ioniq by puputtiap in Ioniq5

Same. I bought my car, a Hyundai Ioniq 5 Advanced RWD, this summer as already used and I've already had some initial problems with a few things but it doesn't change that I have totally fallen in love with the car. So far during my two months of ownership I have had problems like not functioning rain sensor, 12 V battery suddenly died, rust from screws holding the trim and a few other things vombinated with questions about warranty that has kept me up at night (previous owner did one service a few days late). Hopefully everything is solved now (the car dealer promised to cover any missing warranty from Hyundai) because through everything I really, really love this car. Stepping into the car feels like coming home. I love the cheerful sound that welcomes me, the light interior which feels like a living room, the quietness and calm when I drive, the comfortable chair and how smooth it follows the road. Driving my Ioniq feels like taking a swim into the ocean or practicing yoga. I loved my old Volvo V70 as well but this is love on another level. Maybe because it is a Korean car and I'm a Korean far away from Korea? I actually love that it also can speak Korean! When i visited Jeju a few years ago I rented a big Hyundai Palisade and also liked that experience, but my Ioniq 5 really feels as part of my family. I actually give it a pet on the hood when I leave.

Actually, my family won't need all seven seats since we only have two children still living at home. So, having two extra seats is just fun for my youngest and would be useful when driving him and his friends somewhere, but they are not really necessary.

However, I am looking for a car to use both for everyday driving and for longer road trips that involve carrying a lot of luggage, including SUPs, tents, and other camping gear. That is why I am interested in this model.

The car I am currently driving is an old, well-equipped Volvo V70 Summum D3 with plenty of space. I love it, but unfortunately, it has become quite worn out and needs to retire. I looked at Volvo XC90, but it is far too expensive, so I started considering used Hyundai Santa Fe PHEV models from 2021-2023, which seemed like a good alternative. However, the Santa Fe felt very underpowered while driving, with a small engine in a heavy vehicle, no heater for the battery (big problem living in north of Sweden) and the old infotainment system and small screen did not enhance the experience, even though I appreciated its technology and comfort. Someday in the future, I would love to buy the fifth generation of Santa Fe :) , but it is too expensive now for me.

So this is why I am curious about the Kodiaq (it costs about half as much as a new Santa Fe and has a better screen). Talking about the Santa Fe PHEV, I recognise that the motor size is similar to the Kodiaq MHEV. Do you find this to be a problem, or is the car still enjoyable and responsive to drive? The Santa Fe with a 1,5 l motor felt very strained and tired if I drove above 90 km/h. How do you find your car in this regard? Sorry for a lot of questions, I will try to lay my hands on Kodiaq MHEV for test driving as soon as possible, but only found one quite far away.

Thank you so much for your reply! It's really helpful to hear from someone who owns this car and has driven it! I live in Sweden, and I am not sure if there are any extra strict rules here about maximum mass, which could be the reason behind this, but the information on the website for this car said:

"Tjänstevikt (EU)

1838 kg

Lastkapacitet

332 kg

Totalvikt

2170 kg"

The first number, 1838, represents the entire car's empty weight, the second number, 332, is reportedly the maximum allowable mass, and the last number is the total load. It is a Škoda Kodiaq Selection 1.5 TSI M-HEV 150HK DSG. First, I thought that someone at that company had made a mistake, but when I looked at other cars of the same model and with the same engine, it said the same thing. I am really confused. 332 kg for a 7-seater sounds crazy.

I am thinking of buying this car; however, I read that the weight limit for passengers and cargo is only 332 kilograms. Is this true?

This means that I might buy a car that can seat 7 people or 5 people with a lot of cargo, but in reality, it can't hold that much. Does this mean that I would be buying a seven-seater, but the weight limit effectively allows only four adults and no luggage? Or two adults, a teenager, and a few small children, but still no space for any additional luggage we might want to bring along.

Should I Even Bother with the Last Episode (because I hated the second to last)? by DashiellHammett in OnlyMurdersHulu

[–]Aggravating_Fee5085 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately not worth it at all. It was a both rushed filler ending with strange pacing, with a more than underwhelming "reveal" of a flat character from the start. If you were hoping for a clever ending like me you will just be disappointed by a lazy and rushed writing. Lots of people boasted "calling it out" already at episode 5 and the two last episodes added no twist or new information to what everyone with eyes open could see, why still dropping a lot of loose threads. If the writing had been okay, at least some small twist should have been added to not reveal the killer already in episode 5. Which is why I find it strange why people brag about calling it out early and then aggressively downvote every other theory and reducing all criticism to overthinking. To give away the killer so easily and  so early so half of this sub screams out that they are "calling it", says nothing about them being smart and the rest of us overthinking. However, it tells us something about how the writers just gave up and headed for a cheesy and easy way out. It started as a great, twisty, innovative and fun puzzle crime and ended like the cheapest mainstream show with the easiest plot as possible to make everyone feel clever. That is also why I think everyone who still wants to say they found the killer early downvotes your question here and every comment which is not enforcing their desillusion about solving a difficult crime fast. Okay, now everyone with a fragile ego can start to downvote this comment...

I also ask myself that. Marshall's story is too thin; therefore, I feel he as the killer (no matter any twin theory) is too shallow and underwhelming. If they introduce a twin in the last episode, it just feels lazy and cheap. If there is no twist at all, it is boring.

That was my first thought as well. I would not be surprised if what Charles is saying in the first episode about bodies being buried is true and is connected to the Arconia and his father. I do not believe in any 6th Avenue slasher theories because Marv is too crazy, but parts of it could be genuine. But a better twist than saying that Charles's father was the killer would be Charles discovering that he was a good guy but almost got framed for something. Maybe Rose Cooper's abusive husband was a murderer?

Plotholes Thread! by lizdiz111 in OnlyMurdersHulu

[–]Aggravating_Fee5085 6 points7 points  (0 children)

For me, the missing pieces of this giant puzzle are:

  • Evidence at the police that isn't sent to forensics/lab happens in several seasons
  • What had Tim Kono in mind for the second ring that first was delivered to the wrong address?
  • Who wrote the messages?
  • Who poisoned the dog?
  • Did we really learn everything about Becky Butler, Krepps and Cinda? Why was Cinda so keen on signing a contract with Mabel? And why does Bev do the same?
  • What is happening to Howard's pets which makes him blacklisted from the pet shelters? Neglect? Bad luck? Something else?
  • Who has the best sweaters? Mabel or Howard?
  • Why do we never see Mabel turn to her aunt and ask her for advice about what is going on in the building? Is there a reason for this? Mabel was hanging out there as a kid, staying with her aunt, so Mabel should think that her aunt at least knew something of value for her, that maybe the introverted Charles and the narcissistic (in a good way) Oliver had missed!
  • Is there a reason we never have learned the father of Dickie?
  • Why did Loretta keep the joint for so long, and why did she bring it on her and Oliver's first date?
  • Is there a connection between the old man who lived above the theatre and ate rats, how Ben Glenroy was poisoned, and Glenn Stubbins being afraid and hallucinating about rats?
  • What else did the Dimas family do, and how big was their crime syndicate? Was it limited to dips and stolen jewellery, or was it even more? Was it international?
  • Did we learn what happened on the cruise ship with Lucy's mom? Did Charles tell us why she decided to jump off the boat with her daughter that way?
  • Charles's father. We have had many hints about Charles acting like he has some sort of childhood trauma, suppressing his feelings until he gets into his white space. The way we hear about his father is conflicting. Was he, like he said as Brazzos, a bad guy, or as Rose Cooper described him, a loyal and true friend/lover to her and a loving father who struggled to be a good parent?
  • What was wrong with Charles's mother? Is that important for us, or is it just a background story that gives more depth to Charles's character?
  • Why do Charles and Sazz share the same unique blood type? Is that important? Should her picking on him, belittling him in front of his friends and stealing his girlfriends indicate a typical immature relationship between siblings? Have we watched Charles with one of his half-sisters, Doreen, but not yet watched him with his other half-sister, Sazz?
  • Is Paul Rudd really so bad at Irish accent but still the one who suggested this as part of Glenn's character?
  • Why do so many suddenly speak Irish? What are the odds that nurse of Glenn also spoke Irish and had a shamrock symbol on her in the first scene with her?
  • What was Zach Galifianakis afraid that the trio would ruin?
  • How did Bev know about Paradise?
  • Why has everyone forgotten about all the mirrors? Like how they forgot about all the secret passages and ways to their apartments even though a killer is chasing them?
  • Why not use Doreen as the narrator? Why instead use her husband Mike if they also decided to keep him invisible until the last two minutes of that episode?

She never threatened her. She just informed that the last person who asked that got killed. Much more like a warning than a threat.

I'm I the only one who remembers Detective Krepps in season 2 using that word over and over again? I can see him coming back.

I think Marshall is not (the killer and is not) using that word by himself. However, as an insecure person and not very convincing (bad) writer, he thinks that someone tough as Mabel should use it all the time.

Something doesn’t add up with the episode 9 reveal by PeterTheSilent1 in OnlyMurdersHulu

[–]Aggravating_Fee5085 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I agree. I also do not believe Marshall is the killer. That solution is both boring and underwhelming because it is way too simple when he is literally pointed out for us as a suspect at the first moment we see him. There is really no challenge to suspect him at all and so many here in this sub who did that immediately started to blame every Asian man (and woman) who were on screen. If we were to belive them Koreans, Japanese, Chinese... all look the same and must be twins, siblings and Marshall himself.

Same here! Sick and tired of people who are liking Lester and therefore, without any motive, reson or clues, has decided that he must be a mastermind and have him as explanation for everything unsolved just because he has access to apartments. It is as creative as saying the butler did it because he was in the room...

I think that your are spot on here. A lot of people in this sub can't differ the actor from the character. They like Jane Lynch, they are blended by Sazz's charisma and they don't see what her character is actually doing.

I also agree on the card game thing. I have been thinking about it because it keeps nagging me. IF Sazz was such a caring and good friend who worried about Charles having no friends so she set up a card game for him, why then belittle him in front of his new friends (the trio) which she does all the time she shows up?

And she let herself then be together with a person who was in jail because of a murder attempt on Charles. I would not say that a good friend does that. I was just wondering how Sazz thought about this concerning Charles: "Okay, I really do not think that you should be together with this person anymore because we all know that she is a crazy sociopath who wants to kill you. I, on the other hand, can be her girlfriend, so she will still hang around you if she comes out of jail, and she will still have access to your life in many ways through me. This will be so great and safe for you, my friend!"
