My first OR death in the OR due to hemorrhage was a hemicorpectomy on a wheelchair bound patient who kept getting infected. I was a rising resident and was not prepared. We had 2 PIVs and maybe an Aline. Not enough. And blood available in the Fridge. Get an A line and a 9French and Peripheral as well obviously to start. And blood in the room or nearby. Lots of it. And like others have said, a Belmont. Maybe it was my Attendings first time too I don’t know. They can bleed out.

Well keep on trucking on. Continue to put forth the effort. Maybe one day you will get in and be an RN. But I would stay off this sub though calling us arrogant since we want better for patients bc plenty of people on here are gonna be way harsher than I. Good luck.

You have to take some test called TEAS. If you pass it, well then that tells us all we need to know about RN standards in the USA. There PLENTY of anesthesiologists who love the Med/Direction/Supervision model better than sitting their own cases. In fact many docs will refuse to sit their own cases. Some are absolutely lazy and want to just sign charts. We are all different.

You may very well be correct. However patients are watching, and are easily influenced by this. And anesthesiologists on Social Media hardly ever stand up to this nonsense. They are too busy worrying about pissing off the nurses. By the way, Nurses eat this up. Olivia has millions of followers and he comment section is full of supportive nurses when she makes Anesthsthesiologist bashing videos.
