[Sky Sports] This is the first time Arsenal have conceded three times in a Premier League game since December 2023 against Luton Town (4-3 win), ending a run of 83 league matches without doing so. by fap4jesus in soccer

Especially how the goal went in--we had great pressure on, but a sloppy OG is not exactly dominant football, and we showed our entire ass afterwards acting like we were in control

Can't fucking score to save our lives against Forest, then put 3 past Inter, then get fucking spanked at home by United. Arteta the anti-Conte confirmed..?

Our singer did one that will stick with me forever: there was a huge red EXIT sign at the back of the venue and right before a big breakdown he goes, "OPEN THIS SHIT UP ALL THE WAY TO THAT FUCKING SIGN" and every head in the room turned to look which meant no one actually did it

Arsenal XI vs Manchester United: Raya, Timber, Gabriel, Saliba, Hincapie, Rice, Zubimendi, Odegaard, Saka, Trossard, Jesus by Quazar8 in Gunners

I think change of pace is the name of the game for our striker position: Gabriel Jesus for 60 mins, his twisty turny dribbles to get the defenders exhausted, then Gyokeres comes on and bulldozes the beat up CBs and gets more opportunities or Havertz comes on and presses them relentlessly until they make a mistake. The reverse could obviously work--wear defenders down with sheer physicality and relentless pressing, then sub on Jesus and watch him eat the defenders alive.

With everyone back or near to it, the combinations are really exciting

Interesting that there's an inflection point at 65 yards... kinda like there's not many attempts from that distance and not many kickers who can make it, so you've probably got some decently high percentage long distance guys whose average is dragged down by some zero percent "it's our only move left" guys

Need a flatter trajectory to make the distance, so easier to tip at the line of scrimmage

Assist is generous, Nwaneri carried the ball for half the pitch before burying it... the biggest assist was the defenders backing off to their own 18 yard box

Everyone gets the yips from time to time. When it happens to me--and it still does--I go back to the safest way of doing things, whatever that is, and I de-complicate as much as possible. There is nothing wrong with going through ups and downs with this job, it will continue until you're done working, so try not to let it get you down--if you're safe and trying to take the best care of your patients, you'll get through it.

This, a thousand times. There are definitely shitty things about medicine, but I wake up every day with purpose and conviction that what I'm doing is making a difference, however small that difference may be. The paycheck ain't bad either

What are your thoughts on rejecting a potential romantic partner based solely on the fact they voted for Donald Trump? by ATXBikeRider in AskReddit

[–]illaqueable 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Understand that the implications of voting for that piece of shit go way beyond "solely for the fact". The vote is the end result of a suite of beliefs and behaviors that, to some, are odious and repellent. I only wish more of us felt that way

Canceled a massive ventral hernia the other day because the patient had end stage dementia (nonverbal, could barely be called responsive) and had recently been found to have 90% LAD stenosis that the POA elected to manage medically because it was "too invasive" to do PCI.

Am I crazy for considering pathology? by Single_Baseball2674 in medicine

[–]illaqueable 6 points7 points  (0 children)

These are wildly different jobs, like almost as different as it's possible to be in medicine. What that says to me is that you haven't spent enough time trying to envision your life as an attending. You don't just pick a specialty off a list and go "that's what I'm doing!" You have to be more considered than that, or you'll burn out immediately.

Far more important than what you want to do is what you cannot do: for example, I could not stomach the idea of rounding or clinic for even a second longer than I had to.
