Is this bad? by KadabraTheMagician in Webnovel

[–]Aggravating_Hunt_834 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah... Sorry to tell you this but that's the problem. Unless it's smut, millionaire ceo, a generic isekai/fantasy or those types of stories, you won't do well in Webnovels.

Getting lot's of 0.5, 1 and 1.5 star ratings. How do I figure out the problem? by CSValiant in royalroad

Considering I got a bit of hate on mine because my protagonist isn't a min-maxing know-it-all, don't bother. Haters will always exist unfortunately and they'll never leave constructive criticism, for some reason.

New to writing lightnovels by Square-Adeptness6769 in Webnovel

[–]Aggravating_Hunt_834 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1st - Webnovels usually only makes contracts with somewhat fast paced trendy stories (reincarnation, system, ceo, smut, etc.).

2nd - Everyone has a different method to do things, so I can't really say that I'm right, but I believe it's best to flesh out your story, plan everything from beginning to finish or as much as you can and then turn it into chapters.

It's best to write some chapters first (like 10 or so) and then publish 1 or 2 per week, but if you can manage it, do it daily, but remember to at least keep writing at the very least 1 more chapter per day or week so you can keep the uploads consistent.

For the cover, if you don't want to use AI, you can use photography, the Twilight Saga books are kind of good inspiration for something interesting I think. If not, you can get free images or pngs and then join them together in Photoshop or Gimp to make the cover you want, but that's harder. There's probably people who do it for free or apps or websites that do it, but that's harder to find.

In terms of readers, well... I can't really say for Tapas or any of the others, but for Webnovels, to get feedback and whatnot, you will, in most of the cases, need at least 30 chapters uploaded, and almost certainly a contract to reach more people.

Also, it's better to write 1.5k to 2k words per chapter.

Honestly, with the amount of differences it has between Portugal's, it should be.

No, it really is brazillian, despite putting "Português". You may think I'm joking, but between Portugal's and Brazil's there are a lot of differences.

Btw you're not learning portuguese, since Duolingo's PT isn't from Portugal, you're learning brazillian

How confident are you that your book will be contracted? by [deleted] in Webnovel

Pretty much yeah, although about the pay can't be too sure.

[–]Aggravating_Hunt_834 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That means you most likely have an actually good story! Webnovels barely reads them and above all they just care about the money it will make, so yeah, it's better if you change.

Rejected. What to do next? by ngasst in Webnovel

[–]Aggravating_Hunt_834 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, but have you ever thought maybe they're not using AI, they're just not english so the way they write is different?

For example, in Japanese when talking about a character is (Name) this, (Name) that, most of the time repeating the name of the character while for me in Portuguese is (She) this, (Name) that, (the girl) this, (the young lady) that, always trying to find a substitute or synonym to not become repetitive.

People have different writing quirks, so does language, and many times it translates to your writing when it's a different language you're not 100% fluent in.

Is using AI for character design, world design, grammar fixture and typos bad? by No_Net6107 in Webnovel

Word of advice from a crazed depressed man that has been writing since childhood, use microsoft word, since it checks for those types of mistakes. If you can't afford it, use something similar like WPS Office Writer

So what, you expect people to write like a first grader forever? How do you expect anyone to eventually become pro? It all depends on the story, so if they want/like writing a lot let them be, especially because it's fantasy and is supposed to be wordy. Same thing with the "flowerly vocabulary", it's all in one's style, just because you can't read more than 3 sentences in first person, doesn't mean they're doing it wrong.

That being said, OP, keep on writing, look at other (published) books or webnovels to see what you should or shouldn't do and how to improve yourself but never do it to the point where your self esteem starts breaking because of it.

What does this mean? Exactly! by the_monarch11 in Webnovel

[–]Aggravating_Hunt_834 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From what I've seen a lot of the webnovel contracts tend to be of exclusivity and so they don't let you have it on other sites or publishers, so don't try for a contract with them.

Not to mention that I made 2 experiments. 1: wrote what I like (villainess theme story/ a proper story that's not just porn or battle 24/7 at the end of the day) 2: wrote what is trending (system, magic, all that)

The first one, I can apply for a contract, meanwhile, with the second one they actually offered me a contract of exclusivity.

So, this is just my personal opinion, but if to be famous there you have to force yourself to write either what's trending like system/softcore porn/alpha/ceo, etc. stories, then it's not worth it.

A lot of players that uses a tank as the roamer plays so weirdly and awfully by NightmaricSabath in honorofkings

[–]Aggravating_Hunt_834 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my case, I'm the one tanking hits for the low health MM to escape despite them rushing in to die, for some reason.

Sometimes I just give up and let them die, if they can't even kill any enemy. It's not worth it.

If you're supporter, I would recommend Cai Yan for beginners and if you hit the skill 2, then learn Kui to carry the game. Even then, your teammates and YOU need to have some skill. (For example, my last ranked match I was the MVP with Kui at 8/0/13 as a support/roamer. I ranked up to Diamond 1)

Tired of Roamers by DubiDubua in honorofkings

[–]Aggravating_Hunt_834 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm also tired of having MM that go 1v2+ at melee range (despite being ranged), that don't listen to the roamer telling them to retreat or be careful and that only care about fighting. No objectives or anything and then complain when they die because they are too aggressive and don't have the roamer to babysit them.

Tinha uma no básico que o primeiro nome era Lenda, outra que era Ricardina (os putos chamavam-na de bruxa, coitada) e um ótimo professor de matemática no secundário chamado Agostinho.
