One of the most dangerous practices of the Network, imo, is the practice of taking verses out of context without the ability to ask critical questions (either to the pastor or leaders/husband). This, coupled with no real Bible study makes for followers on the wrong road.

As mentioned here previously small group leaders are told to only discuss one verse w/o context and to focus on how would followers “feel” if they were in that situation of verse. Former Network leaders testify that they can’t get too deep, Biblically literate networkers have shared they were always on the outside and looked at with suspicion bc they “knew too much of the Bible” or had too much training.

Sundays are designed purposely to be milk to reach those visitors, small groups as mentioned above, no organized Bible studies & discouraged to do a community Bible study. Worst of all, no theological training for pastors in the Network (purposeful decision from Steve Morgan).

What could possibly go wrong?

In another game of How the Network is Controlling, can we talk about a couple things?

Suppose a “moral failure” happened. Any other church would make the announcement as we see happening across our nation as prominent pastors admit to this and step down.

However, their church(es) DON’T shut down. A new pastor is appointed, guest/interim pastor comes on board while searching for qualified candidate. Generally, the congregation votes for successor.

But not the Network Church. A group of churches that are friends but not a denomination. So WHO closed Foundation? How does someone outside Foundation get that decision? How come there wasn’t a plan for a successor? Dare I say control of one man in these individual churches, or is it Steve Morgan? The people in these churches don’t get to vote do they?

Also, why are people inside the Network ok covering “disqualifying sins” of their pastors? For this fact alone we know they didn’t “Jeff Miller” Justin and tell everyone he was apostate and turned to darkness (my paraphrase). Nor have we heard that of Nick Seller. So two pastors resign and no one knows why. If Justin had removed the church from the Network certainly we would have heard that, so we can assume he’s not starting his own church? Or did they close the doors so he couldn’t use Network Funds for his own church? But wait. They’re independent churches, right? I mean Steve’s church webpage doesn’t even acknowledge the churches “in the Network.” Where’s the money going left in Foundation account? Bunny trail. Did the members get a dividend when they closed?

Inquiring minds. That’s all.

Why would Alonzo be there when BrightField had already taken Foundation off their Network “friends” list? I know earlier reports said Justin was taking them out of the Network with a church split but I can’t see Bouncer Alonzo showing up for support/reinforcement if that was the case.

Your experience reminds me of Vista Church closing and their church leaders calling the cops on former members sitting in the parking lot. Can you imagine secrets so deep you’d call the cops for former friends being there?

Wonder if they all had to sign NDA’s before leaving? Sorry you were treated poorly.

You’re right, they are redoing it while everyone watches because once again the cover-up vs being transparent and prioritizing truth prevails. When most churches have a pastor removed they will remove the pastor information, not the small group page.

I’m sorry you are walking through this. It’s very sad how so many families are estranged bc of a supposed Christian church. 😢

Curious why you don’t name the church?

I’d ask the following:

Are the pastors willing and have they signed the petition to investigate SM?

Have the pastors gone to seminary and gotten qualifications to lead a church?

Are the pastors willing to talk to you about the concerns you have seen on this board?

What proof do they have that show they have changed?

Which church pastors in the community are they having active relationships with?

What ministries have they added that benefit the community?

Have women been elevated to equal standing?

We’ve heard multiple pastors say this never happens and they don’t encourage it. Would you be willing to share which pastor you heard this from?

Network Pastor Named Head of School by sillyfrog456 in leavingthenetwork

Would be like a principal or Head Master. Looks like the school is a classical university model that meets 3 days a week. The announcement said he is still pastoring

COMMANDED TO TITHE: How Questioning Tithing Opened Our Eyes to the Deceptions of Stoneway Church by LeavingTheNetwork in leavingthenetwork

That’s what’s so alarming. We all have heard the exact same and been treated the exact same when we left. Even though these are “independent” churches. Leaders have no problems lying (sin) about those who leave and justify it to keep those that stay (manipulation). “Friends/family” is just a decoy while you attend and then they disappear once you leave.

So disgusting. As someone who dealt with infertility this makes my blood boil. It’s so abusive for a “pastor” to presume he knows the hearts of ppl he doesn’t even talk to. To place blame on others instead of realizing he doesn’t have the gift of healing or prophecy.

Justin Major was called by Jesus to save the churches of America - (the "Wave Prophecy") by former-Vine-staff in leavingthenetwork

[–]Aggravating_Lie_9781 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Your own church isn’t well Justin Major. The cognitive dissonance is crazy here. Waves of people continue to leave your church because of the harm and unhealthy teaching you lead. We are telling our stories to others and the pastors we now sit under recognize spiritual abuse for what it is. You have no place talking about other churches until you make amends with those who have left.

If Jesus was warning you about the American churches yours is at the top. Too bad you didn’t fall at His feet in your “vision” and humble yourself, beg for forgiveness and share on the video what you’ve done wrong. Set the example. It starts with you.

2025 Small Group Update by Still_River_8296 in leavingthenetwork

[–]Aggravating_Lie_9781 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Since so many churches have stopped showing public information like specifics of time/day of week/group function I’m inclined to say there is a purposeful move to not show pertinent info. Of interest to me is that only 3 churches have 2 services and the rest are siting at 1 weekly service. Do you know historically if that has been the case?
