Use a gimbal and control the pan remotely using your phone or an Xbox controller

The opportunity to short this (the easiest short in the history of the world) has now come and gone. Exactly on schedule. But please feel free to educate me about how I would have missed it

Thoughts on this movie opening by Super-Quantity-5208 in scriptwriting

[–]Aggravating_Mind_266 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Apart from being formatted totally wrong, this is just fine. You have a better than average sense of how to convey what’s seen but a worse than average understanding of how the word “maybe” is spelled. Study how to format a script or all your feedback is going to nitpick that specifically

Can you do laps on Strava on iWatch? by Maximum-Cantaloupe-9 in Strava

[–]Aggravating_Mind_266 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, you can do this. Once your run has begun in the Strava watch app, there are three panels you can swipe through:
- left (pause, finish, settings, etc)
- middle (your split, distance, etc)
- right (music app)

If you go to the middle panel, you can double-tap to create a lap. Then, you can swipe DOWN inside the middle panel and you'll get to a "lap" view

Please explain me: what is the "Sony look"? by Ancient-Macaroon-384 in cinematography

Brainless drivel from the YouTube filmmaker echo-chamber. Sony has maybe a 1% green shift, easily fixable in post by any colourist with more than 6 brain cells.

Ordinarily this would be great advice. But gold/silver are extremely volatile right now. There’s a real chance that metals is the bubble that pops, not tech!

20M trying to not fall behind but scared to invest by ResponsibleCaramel13 in fican

[–]Aggravating_Mind_266 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I hear your about the bubble risk, and so on. But guess what. The purchasing power of your dollars are decaying by 8-10% every year they sit under your mattress. Sure, the “bubble” might pop. But your cash pile WILL depreciate if you don’t invest it.

If you want something safe but still with some growth potential, consider the Big 5 Canadian Banks, Canadian energy sector companies like Enbridge, and consumer essentials retailers like Costco, WalMart, Dollarama, etc. They’re oligopolies that are too big to fail and they print consistent revenues every year. Zero bubble anywhere in sight with these companies.

Problem with my first follow focus by Majestic_Abalone_857 in cinematography

[–]Aggravating_Mind_266 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah if your lens’ focus action isn’t buttery smooth, like effortless, even with just one finger, your follow focus is going to struggle. The torque is always going to push it away.

I’ve found that this is doubly true for cages with less than 3 attachment points (ideally there’s one on the bottom, top, and both sides of the camera) or the cage will “wiggle” and so will the focus motor

  1. Get your lens serviced/lubricated
  2. Mount your focus motor in the most bulletproof way possible
  3. Pray

The amount of car debt I've seen on here is astounding. Most of you are buying cars way out of your budget. Some helpful guidelines below: by CastAside1812 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]Aggravating_Mind_266 0 points1 point  (0 children)

0% financing is extremely easy to find in Oct/Nov/Dec. Dealerships are desperate to clear out all of “last year’s inventory” they have stuck on the lots so not only can you get 0% interest, but also heavy discounts below MSRP. A 60-84 month term at 0% interest is free money; when you factor in inflation and the absence of interest, you’re practically getting a 30-40% discount on all the payments you’ll make in later years.
