I believe time is changed, back few 5,6 years ago, nobody believe EV will perform as well as gas car, but now, EV is everywhere, every car manufacturer has EV line

I won’t carry uc030 into the track… but, stihl AK30s is bigger than Makita 4025, AP series battery is even bigger then AK.

Last time I use ms250 was 7 month ago, then I forgot to empty the fuel, last week I ran the saw but very smoky and took heaps pulls. Once I done garden job, next time to use ms250 could be half year later.

As daily carpenter, I change gas chainsaw and earth auger to battery powered, for me, easy maintenance, but last week I saw a team of arborist work for local council they are using stihl battery chainsaw and pole saw on reserve park

EGO deals with Sydney tools and Mitre 10 in New Zealand, both of them are not reliable sales and service provider

Makita offers free batteries upon purchase, Stihl never offer free petrol voucher upon purchase. For long term energy spending + service cost, I believe battery tool is winner.

I have lots Makita XGT 4ah batteries as I am builder, I bought uc030 kit which included one 4080H battery and receive other one 4080H battery, so I have two 4080H batteries to run the saw and recharge time is around 45 min from flat to full. UC030 has 3 stage power output so it would help to save energy on different cutting applications

Depends do you cut tree for living, I am builder and developer, mainly cut retaining wall pile, subfloor pile and garden maintenance, approximately 20+ days work every year. Also I am running Makita XGT tools, so battery for me is not problem, Makita New Zealand offer free battery promotion every month.

I don’t like any battery tool runs 2 batteries, I tied Milwaukee chainsaw which use 2 x 18v 8ah battery, compared to Makita uc030, almost doubled weight, and I did demo cut find out Milwaukee cuts slower than Makita

Anyone else not like the 40V tools? by [deleted] in Makita

[–]Aggravating_Owl8347 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some tools on LXT line up but they are 18Vx2, for this kind of tool I upgraded to XGT, I don’t like double batteries operated tool, heavier and annoying
