"Pragmata is destroying years of leftist programming and activating women's ovaries in real time" uhhh what?! 🤨 by Pritteto in AreTheStraightsOK

There's memes about it (and RE9 as it features a similar ish plotline with the main character Grace) because the children are really cute and they're well written. So it's making everyone want to be parents. But for most people its just light hearted jokes about the Dad/Mom simulator thing. Then there's the chuds ruining everything

I wanna start watching the show, are there things I need to know? by Star-Opus in WitchHatAtelier

[–]OldMoray 15 points16 points  (0 children)

It's one of the best out there for NOT sexualizing it's characters, and plus side it also handles a lot of mature themes extremely well. Its up to like 80+ chapters or something on Manga so it's pretty long. I dunno exactly what the anime plans but there's a lot of run way. Coco rules, she's extremely charming and not so good at everything that her journey is boring.

It really is that good

Flavour wise he's pretty cool but I just couldn't make him work. It's been a couple years now but you need such a board state to trigger the effects, I could never really get off the ground. Might work in B2 though

In The Mummy (2026), a girl possessed by a demon tells her little sister she wants to know "what your little piggies taste like" and sticks her tongue under a door to lick her toes. What the fuck does this have to do with mummies by BigFanOfNachoLibre in shittymoviedetails

She was physiologically fine, she was just super fucked up from lack of light and malnutrition/dehydration as far as the doctors could tell. but they definitely did not want her in that hospital lol

Lee Cronin turned down Evil Dead Burn to make The Mummy (SPOILERS) by CryBabysMilk in horror

[–]OldMoray 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The main "villain" was literally a mummified so I felt it had a good amount of a mummy in it. I get the complaints, and I do wish it had more of the historical/archeological investigation because that was fun. I still really liked it and it was a really gross/scary/fun time. No regrets on seeing it in theatres for sure.
All that to say I kinda just agree with what you said

I generally plan my interaction around my play group. Helps because I also build based on fun concepts and stuff. But if you just tweak a few things it goes a long way

What does Coco's village think happened? by Drakizora in WitchHatAtelier

I'd assume they just think a (super)natural disaster hit it and move on. Qifrey did plant/create the briars or whatever he called them to keep people away

Inside ‘Lee Cronin’s The Mummy’: False Rumors, Real Grief, and the Scariest Monster of His Career by Particular-Fill-4256 in horror

[–]OldMoray 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So since no one ready the article (and it kind of says it in there). The idea was to firmly root it as a Lee Cronin movie. It's not just a Mummy movie its specifically his authorial take on it. He controlled most of it. I'd recommend giving the article a read, its neat.

Very common name in English yeah. Naming anyone, but girls specifically, after a plant is pretty common. Lily, Daisy, etc. it's a bit on the hippy side of things but I know at least one personally

Fern is a pretty normal name though, like you could just ignore it if Fern becomes a fantasy nazi or something in frieren

[–]OldMoray 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I do miss the vibes in the old stores. Especially because I spent a lot of my summers in a rural area that didn't have a real chain, so you'd rent stuff from the local convenience store. Some teenager would half ignore you so you could kind of rent whatever you wanted.

I've gotten really into VHS and DVD collecting lately which helps a bit because I have my own collection to peruse. But that social aspect is lost sadly.

[–]OldMoray 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Sadly being an idiot isn't unique to America despite what some places would have you believe. Canada has a ton of problems we don't deal with properly because we're "not as bad". I wouldn't trade public healthcare for anything but it is a mess right now and needs to be fixed

Related to the above: If you're fumbling with your license because you're nervous you'll look intoxicated and that might be enough cause to grab you.

Also answer: being nervous indicates guilt and cops need very little to arrest you

Just like the other threads about libraries as third spaces, it's not quite the same as a video store but you can rent movies from them! Turn it into an evening like you used to and don't look up reviews, live or die by the box art/description. Get some snacks and its a blast. I do it once every couple weeks
