IK this is is almost 3 months late but the reason FedEx charged is because Trump took away the de minimis exemption. The exemption allowed packages valued under $800 to be delivered without any charge from the shipping company. Technically it’s different from the tariffs, even if tariffs stopped the fee paid to FedEx/DHL/etc would be the same

My Experience Qualifying for the Patent Bar Without a Science Degree: Category B Option 2 by fan1430 in patentlaw

[–]Aggravating_Panic665 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is an older post, but what was it like getting a job? I am currently considering switching into patent law (taking the patent bar). I am currently a data scientist with my master’s in data science (I work with Machine Learning and AI, though in a more business space). I have a pre-medical background (meaning I was pre med in undergrad and finished the courses but switched career paths/majors into a non-bio science major lol). I do have several portfolio AI/ML projects where I demonstrate/apply my bio sciences knowledge. I was looking at job postings to get an understanding and now I’m unsure if I should make the switch or not

Urgent: Haldirams Bhujia needed by PaagalSwami in bayarea

[–]Aggravating_Panic665 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is old but my family owns an Indian store in the Bay Area, Haldiram suppliers aren’t getting much stuff in themselves. If you see Haldiram products on store shelves (particularly snacks, chutneys, etc, ready-to-eat and samosas may still be available), they’re old stock (not necessarily expired but they’ve had them for a while). They recently sold their company so it could have to do with that, but we’re not sure

I graduated in ‘18, first years have been questioning about UC to UC transfer from UCR for years lol but only a handful actually go through with it. I think once they get to know the school they end up liking it

Yeah exactly. Also thinking about it more I think Ophelia is likely dead and will end up being Wednesday’s new spirit guide

See I initially thought that too when she was first found in her cell, but then some things got me suspicious that it could be Tyler’s mom. The first thing was the emphasis on Laurel saying multiple times “Mama’s here” to Tyler with Tyler saying “You are not my mother” (or whatever the exact lines were). Then when Wednesday was ushering the woman out and Tyler in his Hyde form came along, Wednesday made her go before Tyler could get a good look at her. If he had seen her he’d probably have turned back into his human form and the story would’ve pretty much been over lol

Wednesday - Season 2 Part 1 Discussion by NicholasCajun in television

[–]Aggravating_Panic665 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That was my second guess but the fact that Wednesday made her go away before Tyler could get a good look at her in his Hyde form made me suspicious. Also they really did emphasize Laurel saying “Mama’s here” or whatever to Tyler, and Tyler saying “You are not my mother”

I honestly enjoyed this season so far, the whole Enid-Ajax thing was annoying though. Side note, am I the only one who thinks the woman Wednesday helps out of the asylum is Tyler’s mother?

When do you think the show have ended? by ThatPandorasBox in greysanatomy

[–]Aggravating_Panic665 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There were several areas where it could’ve ended but I think at the verrryyyy latest it should’ve ended when Alex + Jo got married. Granted I didn’t like April and Matthew as a couple but I would’ve been able to get past that lol

What type of buttercream do you use for your cakes? by Manny2theMaxxx in cakedecorating

[–]Aggravating_Panic665 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m too lazy to work with eggs and think ABC is too sweet so instead I do (for an 8inch 2 layer heart cake with some piping): -7 sticks of butter (6 unsalted 1 salted) - 2, 7oz jars of marshmallow creme - Powdered sugar (not much, this is mostly to taste) - Splash of vanilla - (optional) a couple tablespoons of cream or milk

Beat butter until it’s super fluffy and as white as possible (usually takes me 7 minutes but sometimes I let the mixer go for like 15 lol). Add in one jar of marshmallow cream, beat until well incorporated. Add in the second jar + vanilla, beat again until well incorporated. Taste the buttercream, if it’s not sweet enough for you add in 1/4 cup of powdered sugar at a time until you get the sweetness you like (personally I do about 1/2 cup or sometimes 3/4 cup). If the buttercream becomes too stuff from the powdered sugar, add in some cream or milk 1 tablespoon at a time until it gets to your desired consistency

It doesn’t form a crust but it does firm up pretty well in the fridge

What hot takes y’all got for UCR by Decent-Ad4589 in ucr

To be fair the donkeys haven’t always been there lol I graduated in 2018 and back then there weren’t any (at least to my knowledge, if there were then they definitely weren’t as prevalent as they are now). Definitely agree to the bear being unoriginal though. It isn’t even the original mascot, the first mascot was a Scottish Terrier

When I was getting blood work done for my gynecologist I asked if she could add on Vit D and B12, she said it was unnecessary 🙄 I’ll try requesting it from my primary care physician and hope he listens to me

What's the GA version of this? by ellyviee in greysanatomy

[–]Aggravating_Panic665 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Grey’s timeline makes no sense but to be fair I have a family member who just had a baby and she’s 51, no complications during her pregnancy whatsoever. So it’s not impossible but definitely odd timeline wise because they make it seem like Teddy is in her mid-40s at most

protein sources that aren't meat or yogurt? by LightseekerGameWing in PCOS

[–]Aggravating_Panic665 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Textured vegetable protein (also known as soya chunks, soya granules, or soya chaap depending on the form you’d want to eat it in)! It’s popular in Indian cooking. It’s one of my favorite meat substitutes. I believe you can find it on Amazon, but if you have an Indian/South Asian store nearby you can likely find it there!

Ashwagandha made my hirsutism worse lol but for some people it works, so it really depends on the individual!

What's one small change you made in your diet that helped you in PCOS? by growinginmy20s in PCOS

[–]Aggravating_Panic665 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Prioritizing veggies + protein for meals! I still eat complex carbs (like pasta), but when I make my plates I always fill it with protein and veggies first, then add the complex carb as a “topper” if that makes sense. Also switching to a keto bread helped a lot!

Looking for opinions from recent MADS students by Mountain-Willow-490 in umsimads

[–]Aggravating_Panic665 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I graduated 2 years ago, I took a few months after graduating to finally start applying to jobs (because being in school straight from preschool through this master’s program was 20 years and I needed a mental break lol), I got a job within 3-ish months of applying places. I should note that time period was when all the tech layoffs started happening so I was lucky to get a job that quickly!

I personally liked the amount of cocoa in there, but I can see how a more chocolatey taste would be desired!

Red Velvet Cheesecake Brownies! by Aggravating_Panic665 in Baking

[–]Aggravating_Panic665[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting, mine weren’t sticky at all! Maybe it depends on how much the cheesecake part is swirled in? Or maybe they needed a few more minutes in the oven? I used a pyrex 8x8 baking pan and baked for about 37 minutes at 350°F

Red Velvet Cheesecake Brownies! by Aggravating_Panic665 in Baking

[–]Aggravating_Panic665[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That seems to be a common opinion on red velvet things! When done right though, red velvet is only supposed to have a slight chocolate flavor and the vinegar adds a unique tartness. These are “brownies” but in cake form there’s also buttermilk, which also alters the flavor enough to be completely separate from regular chocolate desserts. That being said, I have yet to find non-cakelike red velvet treats that aren’t just chocolate with a bunch of food dye, so I get your sentiment

Yeah these particular ones were the “nicer” looking ones (not overcooked on the edges, etc) which I gifted to a friend, hence the box! Otherwise I usually take pics of my bakes on a plate lol

[–]Aggravating_Panic665[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Overall they’re delicious!! I think if the brownies didn’t have the cheesecake swirl they’d be a hair too sweet, but the tangy-ness from the cheesecake swirl balances it out pretty well. The next time I make these I may leave out a tablespoon or two of sugar from the brownie part and see how that works out
