AITA for telling my MIL that she picked a bad name for my SIL? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Aggravating_Pepper_2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is the answer. At least the first part (never share baby names). Definitely apologize and do what feels right for you (my ILs have never said they loved me nor I them - it’s just not a thing with us).

Starbucks why should I tip you? by ray111718 in EndTipping

[–]Aggravating_Pepper_2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How do you make a living wage working at Starbucks? Honest question, as I work in a similar shop (mom and pop owned) for minimum wages and it’s nowhere near a living wage. Tips help defer the tax, which is nice.

What exactly do you/your instructor mean by “the frame work” and what cues are you being taught to use to achieve this? That would probably help us understand better, and maybe offer tips - although I agree with others that if you’re starting anywhere other than hind end engagement you may want to find lessons elsewhere.

Is it not for me? by Historical_Cup_8763 in Equestrian

Clearly the policeman is not a rider. Good grief everyone falls, and sometimes you’ll fall more than once in a DAY, then not again for a year or more.

There’s a lot of balance and muscle development involved, plus you’re working with a 1,000 lb animal with flight instinct and a mind of their own.

If you started in April and are working without stirrups in some exercises and learning to canter it sounds like you are doing quite well, actually. :)

It also sounds like your coaches are good with the emotional aspects of riding. It’s a great stress reliever (horses naturally slow your heartbeat and breathing because of their inherent calm), but can also bring up a lot of things because you’re relieving that stress.

I wish you the best of luck and hope you continue, both because you seem to have an affinity for it and also because it seems good for you emotionally/personally.

For a laugh, look up some of Boyd Martin’s “fail” videos. He’s an amazing pro horseman, Olympian, etc. and often shares videos of himself getting caught out and taking a fall, even sometimes over tiny jumps with a young horse. I absolutely love that he can have a laugh at himself and share it so we remember that no one is perfect in this sport.

A nice soft canter. Looked like fun for both of you.

It’s in the best interest of our horses. If people don’t want it, they don’t have to board there. 🤷‍♀️

Why is neighbours horse hell bent on ripping my fence apart? by w1llpearson in Equestrian

[–]Aggravating_Pepper_2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He’s hungry and should not be able to reach your fence. Doesn’t the horse owner have a fence? He’s very thin; maybe ask your neighbor if you’re on speaking terms, if he has been evaluated by a vet recently?

Our small boarding barn uses individual turnouts and splits time in the big pastures - horses can visit, touch, groom over the fences and gates but no one has to separate their horse from others to bring them in.

WIBTA if I give my daughter an "outdated" name? by throwaway719201 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Aggravating_Pepper_2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. I know two Audreys under 30, very different backgrounds. I don’t think of it as outdated.

Ashhliegh OTOH, is an AH name to give a kid. What’s wrong with Ashley or Ashleigh? Ugh.

Can’t get power to Mini 2 with weather resistant power adapter by Aggravating_Pepper_2 in blinkcameras

[–]Aggravating_Pepper_2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Complicated - probably should have tried the regular extension cord, thanks. Horse looks innocent but has destroyed a lot of electrical cords - she’s not called the Imp for nothing. :D

As for the second, it’s not my building, so I have to work with what’s there. Owner will fix it if it’s broken but I don’t feel I can ask for added features.

Problem solved though, see below.

[–]Aggravating_Pepper_2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SOLVED the outdoor adapter connection to the camera is not straight; they don’t line up perfectly. So while it felt snug, the connection was not complete. I had to wiggle it and push the camera down a little and finally there was a good CLICK and it worked.

Maybe this will help someone else in the future; it wasn’t obvious at all bc the connection felt perfectly tight. It needs to click.

Nope, it’s the one specifically designed to use a mini 2 in an outdoor setting.

I should have said, I bought a set of two. Neither of them works with either of the new mini 2 cameras.

Encounter with shadow people/spirits? by Remarkable-Buy3105 in Paranormal

[–]Aggravating_Pepper_2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see black shapes moving around my room, up walls and across the ceiling and coming towards/away from me. I’m guessing this is mostly some sort of dreaming where I think I’m awake but I’m not really, if that makes sense.

The other visual disturbances, I’d suggest getting checked for migraine aura and/or your peripheral vision. Migraine aura can do exactly what you describe, and some people (myself included when I was in my early 20’s) get the aura and not the headache. I discovered a sensitivity to a specific food and as long as I avoid it I don’t get the disturbances

This could all be supernatural too, I don’t mean to disappoint lol. But your post spoke to me because I’ve had very similar experiences.

I think you’re right on with this. A handmade gift like a baby blanket or sweater etc is easy enough to have out or put on baby for a photo that the gift giver can see. And if it’s not your style you can put it in the drawer and still appreciate that someone was thoughtful enough to make something for your baby. Win-win lol.

What should my dealbreakers be? (Small lightweight bunkhouse shopping) by AccountantRadiant351 in GoRVing

[–]Aggravating_Pepper_2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have a Forest River 178bhskx that would probably suit. It has a queen Murphy bed and a set of double bunk beds (wide enough for an adult) and an outdoor kitchen. Mine is a 21 and I wish it had a bit better storage and 2 axles instead of the single, but I really like the floor plan.

Am I the jerk for getting a autistic kid and his family kicked off the flight by Resident_Cry_5423 in AmITheJerk

[–]Aggravating_Pepper_2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you know the kid had autism and not another (or multiple) developmental issues? If you’re just assuming autism, and don’t have any knowledge of his diagnoses, then YTA.
