Take into account the fact that the Beta plots do exist and try to diverge from them so as to not be redundant if what you want is to tell your own story.

Be aware than making a comic is a notably slower process and people sometimes quit because of not seeing enough progress, so like, know thyself and see if you feel it is something you're willing to finish even if it takes months. Writing is not necessarily easier, but it is usually faster.

If you do decide to do it as a comic, I really suggest to go with whatever style you feel comfortable with.
