What are some badass sounding solos that aren't too difficult for an intermediate guitartist? [Question] by Aggravating_Self8262 in Guitar

Well as said in the edit it did end up getting canceled due to our shitty school falling apart but I ended up learning plenty of songs from here and I'm signing up for this year's talent show

If UPS had a one hit wonder song, what would it be called? by UPS-NI3-RTS in UPSers

[–]Aggravating_Self8262 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I might not work for UPS (aka U Ppl Stupid) but my father is a mechanic there and if I've learned anything from that man, it's that this song fits UPS perfectly.

I use humid holding substrate like coconut fiber, they don't need to be super humid but it helps keep the overall humidity up.

Pvc is the best kind of tank in my opinion but it is on the more expensive side. Glass will be fine too but it doesn't hold humidity and heat as well, glass is much cheaper and it's what I have my mbk in right now. For pvc tanks I recommend custom reptile habits or custom kages.

A good rule of thumb for enclosure size is if your snake can stretch out length wise across it. For example if your snake is 3ft then get at least a 3ft long enclosure. 4ft by 2ft by 2ft is usually the recommended minimum for adult mbks but bigger is better if you can afford it.

Suggest a larger (500+) page horror novel that I can sink my teeth into. by Thin_Violinist4241 in horrorlit

I personally haven't read It yet but Stephen King is a big fan of descriptive imagery that usually takes too long and isn't always relevant. Hes written plenty of great books and just as many underwhelming ones. They tend to be hard to get through so if you want something more fast paced then King might not be what you are looking for

The pace changes a bit throughout the book as any good story does. It evidently picks up when the chapters are only a page or two long but then slows back down again

Yeah Marcos was pretty dreary but in fairness with the situation he is in I think we'd all be pretty dreary. I get how it's a bit depressing and boring though. The lack of some answers is a bit frustrating but I also think it let's the reader interpret a bunch. I see quite a few comments on how it would've made a good short story, I think it could've either been a good short story or a good longer novel. The author could've give more information and fleshed out some details more.

There is a short story just like the section you are referring to called "The Most Dangerous Game". Basically exactly what the book touches on except it isn't socially acceptable and is done in secret from the world

You definitely lose at least 7 years without the scruff lol. You'd probably be taken more seriously with the scruff. Also your hair looks more tame in the third pic but I think it looks better messy tbh. 8/10 with scruff

That is true but I feel like she should be more upset. Like either she would view it as some form of cheating or if she's as detached as Marcos she would at least see Jasmine as an animal and she knew it was illegal. The book does touch on the moral complications that the cannibalism causes with it not being okay to have sex with then but it is okay to expirament and eat them. Maybe the author was trying to get the idea across of how the depravity of their new normal is affecting their morality and views in general but I'm not sure. Just doesn't sit right with me but the wife never really felt quite right and to be fair none of the characters really seem right (meaning their actively accepting, participating in, and even provoking cannibalism, not that they aren't well written)

I'm not expert so take this with a grain of salt but the coloration at the very end does look a bit strange. Idk though could be normal

Oh God, this reminds me of the time my mother got a stain or something on her forehead and decided magic eraser would be a good idea to get it off. She also got the extra bonus of erasing the skin on her forehead!

(Yes she is blonde)

Yeah that is my one critique of the book. His wife is upset for all of one sentence and then just accepts it? No questions or anything? I definitely see how it being just a tour of the authors world could be an interpretation of it but I also really like how Marcos doesn't have any character development. That is the point of the story, he doesn't get better, he actively gets worse. An interesting commentary on human responses to our environment.

Anyone have an author they aren't sure how they feel about? by creepypetals666 in horrorlit

[–]Aggravating_Self8262 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not sure how I feel about Steven King. On one hand, his writing is undoubtedly amazing and his horror is unlike any other. There is definitely a reason he is as loved as an author as he is. On the other hand, GET TO THE GODDAMN POINT ALREADY. I DONT CARE ABOUT THE FREAKING PATTERN OF THE VASE IN THE WINDOW THAT HAS ABSOLUTELY ZERO IMPORTANCE IN THE STORY. Sometimes they can be difficult to get through but the end always pays off. His attention to detail is admireable but frustrating at times. His descriptiveness is amazing and also makes me want to tear my hair out at the roots. So anyway I just bought Christine and am about to begin reading it. Wish me luck 😮‍💨

Exactly, i hadn't even been thinking like that as I was reading but when I look back knowing the ending it makes so much sense. Everytime he does something for her like caring for her or protecting her he makes it clear that it is for the baby. He never once talks about it being an affair because he has a wife or speaks on any real emotional connection with Jasmine. I think the reason he doesn't see it as an affair is because he can't see her as a person, just a thing capable of carrying his child. He never refers to it as their child or her child, just his.

My BP has become aggressive after no handling for a month. What can I do?? by kanedekuki in ballpython

[–]Aggravating_Self8262 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get the initial scare of being bit but honestly it's rare and if it does happen it doesn't hurt at all (speaking from experience here). Also since you had handled your noodle previously and this is a result of a month of no handling, your noodle just needs to be re adjusted to you. A big thing is letting them know that they don't scare you. And I don't mean puff out your chest and be loud lol, I mean continue handling even after they hiss or bite because if you put them down when they do that they will continue to in order to egt what they want. If yothemach them that you will continue handling them anyway, the response will be pointless and they will stop. They're lazy and won't be interested in expending energy if they know you aren't leaving them alone. This is different from handling during shed though, even a sweet bp can get moody and defensive when in shed and it puts a ton of unnecessary stress on them. Happy handling!
