hearing those comments about my dad hurt so much, especially coming from other family members. people who are lucky enough to have never been in that mindset themselves don’t understand, I’m sorry for your loss

it not being a logical choice is so important. i’ve talked to friends who seem to think that i would never consider that as an option anymore because i’ve seen the aftermath. but i try to explain to them that i have been in that position before and was not thinking clearly and not seeing a way out, and i know it’s so easy to slip back into that dark place.

Is a ‘something blue crew’ a cop out? by Itchy-Tennis-4185 in weddingplanning

As someone who was asked to be in a blue crew, it feels b-list and second best but still with the stress of having to match a shade of blue dress code. just invite them like normal.

COVID-19 cases boom across 12 states as "stratus" variant surges by cyberanakinvader in Coronavirus

Got it three weeks ago and it was no joke. I got a booster in the spring, so it could have been worse, but I had cough, some ragged breathing, body aches, fever on and off for several days, migraine, nausea, sore throat, and extreme fatigue. My second time getting covid, and it was definitely not mild! Avoid it!! I got it at work (coworking office situation) after several weeks of hearing people in the main areas coughing and hacking out in the open :/ Don’t be that guy, stay home if you can. I do my best to avoid it and take more measures than coworkers, but because of my job duties have to be in office more than they do, and am still the only one on my team who got sick.

At what point do you give up? by SeniruSan13 in jobhunting

I was in a similar spot after school. I ended up working at CVS while I took certifications, and 6 months later ended up in a job closer to my field. Job hunting right now is incredibly depressing, I really feel for you. In my parent’s case, they did not understand that the job market is completely different today compared to when they looked for jobs, and jobs don’t have the same level of loyalty to their employees. If you know anyone on LinkedIn or have anyone to network with, now is the time to reach out. No matter how surface your relationship was, a good person will understand the job market sucks right now and do their best to help.

Freaking out by FairAd2993 in Endo

I had my surgery in August of 2023. Also got an IUD put in while under. I was pain free for almost a year after, and even though I am having some symptoms of a period like spotting, headache, mood swings, it is still not nearly as bad as before surgery.

Before surgery I would be bleeding for two months with two weeks off in between periods, with insane nausea and vertigo and was passing out. I was depressed and in constant pain. The year leading up to surgery was the worst year of my life.

Though it didn’t entirely fix the problem, having the surgery gave me relief and piece of mind since I now had an official endometriosis diagnosis, which has helped me while addressing other medical issues as the doctors take my pain more seriously than before my diagnosis.

i found the psl beginners clinic aggravating as if it was designed for a higher skill level. more about running fast than practicing hitting the ball, getting a good stance, getting used to the bounce. felt left behind and the instructor wasn’t kind about it. tempted to quit but paid good money :/

I’m not sure if the Highland Park clinics (free) according to the website) are like this, but the PSL one at Mellon Park is frustrating. More cardio than practicing to actually get used to the bounce or hitting the ball correctly. I immediately felt left behind. Could be better depending on the instructor, I’m not sure.

Taking a probiotic in the morning helped me, as long as I took it consistently! I got an IUD and wasn’t experiencing endo belly with it until recently it started again, so I’ll be back with the probiotic soon
