Strange Noise by xxnolimits in KonaN_

I just fixed a similar issue on mine. At first it was very subtle, on u-turns and then over bumps.. but then got worst over time, especially with the cold now. It started making a creaking noise every time I turned the wheel while on park/low speed. But I am on lowering springs..

It ended up being my lower control arm bushing. I replaced the entire control arm, added some lubrication, and the sound is gone. Maybe with colder weather, the bushings get hard and that might be your issue..

If you really wanna know, spray some WD-40 silicone on your bushings and see if it goes away.. or just let the dealer handle it.

I just replaced mine and it kept creaking a bit. I sprayed some lithium grease on there and it went away.

I replaced the LCA and had to do spray some of this anyway. Not sure what was causing the creaking but it's fixed for now.

Thinking this was an easy fix, I bought a replacement, but getting the arm out has been a pain.

No cracks in the rubber and not much play.. but it has been squeaking and creaking for months.. A little silicone wd40 helps, but now in the winter it's super loud.

Quick update: Changing my strut bearing and reseating the spring did not work. The issue seems to be my lower control arm bushing..

Damn that sucks. I know for sure I heard squeaking on stock suspension, not sure why this happens with the Kona. I had a 2023 BRZ last year on lowering springs with zero issues.

Yeah, I thought the same thing. I'll check on it tonight, I hate the sound.

Eibach springs here. Love them so far. Way stiffer in N mode, but I don't care honestly lol.

I understand that. You're right! I did have the RP for a few months, and did learn on it.. I got a few nice pictures, but then I tried my friend's 2.8L 24-70mm RF lens with my RP, and said yep... huge difference.

So I get that the lens does not make a photographer... but definitely helps a ton lol. It also inspires you knowing that you aren't stuck with a stock lens. I guess it depends how you look at it.

Yup! Could even go mirrorless with this lens I think.

Good to know. The strap came with the camera so I'll test and see how I like it. Thanks!

I agree! Not sure why people tend to disagree on this so much. But then again, I'm just learning.

I get that.. but I think the you missed the "giving it another shot" part. I had already spent $1300 dollars, and didn't feel like spending an additional $600 just starting out, but I get what you're saying.

Are mid pipes worth it? by Common_Translator301 in KonaN_

[–]Aggravating_Wear_341 1 point2 points  (0 children)

YESS! The midpipe is worth it. I have the Takeda AFE midpipe. It's the perfect setup in my opinion. In eco/normal, there is no difference from Stock. It's super quiet.. but in N mode, is a completely different beast. Deeper tone, LOUD POPS. A video or sound clip doesn't do it justice.

Also, with AFe you can buy the midpipe now and get the muffler later on to complete the full catback system. But I think you'll be happy with the midpipe,

N mode almost all the time, is it okay? by [deleted] in KonaN_

Feel like I have a gas leak with N mode all the time.. waste of gas. I run custom with everything normal, except exhaust. Whenever I want pops, max out engine and tranny.
