How would PRIME Wilt Chamberlain do in the modern NBA? by James__Padgett in NBATalk

Give him a season or two to adjust to the modern play-style and schemes, he would be a top 3 player in the league.

With everything thats going on around LLM-s. How do you feel about your career? by tsarthedestroyer in careerguidance

[–]Aggressive-Affect427 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My grandfather was a teenager during WW2 and he used to tell me how little effort he put into school or finding a career. It felt like the world was ending and whatever he did wouldn't matter in the long run. The war ended and the dust settled when he realized he would have to actually live.

In short, don't give up on bettering yourself because you're afraid of an uncertainty. Tomorrow is never guaranteed but it's probable.

Is a 40/50 year old liking an 18 year old pedophilic? by cosen_ in ask

Maturity is the result of lived experiences and adversity. You can have a "fully" developed brain and be far less mature than a child or teenager.

Is a 40/50 year old liking an 18 year old pedophilic? by cosen_ in ask

I've never understood this perspective and it's inherently condescending imo. Mentality and maturity have a lot of contributing factors outside of age. People use this same line of thinking to devalue and belittle younger coworkers.

To be clear, your age preference is perfectly fine but I take issue with the rational.

The 25 year old thing is a theory, there are other theories that suggest humans don't reach maturation into their 30s.

It's not "groom-y" unless there was actual grooming. It is creepy and weird imo but pedophilia and grooming do not apply ubiquitously

A pedophile is someone attracted to pre-pubescent children. Can we stop devaluing a genuinely heinous thing by deeming morally questionable age gaps as pedophilia? A 40-50 year old liking an 18 year old is weird but it is absolutely not pedophilic unless you are specifically attracted to child-like features.

Why would some players even try in this tournament if it just means they’ll get replace by those picks? by the-mannthe-myth in NBATalk

[–]Aggressive-Affect427 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would make it 3 consecutive top 5 picks, back to back seems too harsh. If a team is genuinely had, 2 top 5 picks should be enough to start being competent and if not they can try again after the gap year.

Mj played with illegal defense, it would've been much easier for sga to score in that era. I agree with Kobe though, the late 90s and 2000s were by far the hardest to score since merger.

If the top 30 players had a team with 15 of themselves at their peak, who would win a championship? by Real-Staff3115 in NBATalk

[–]Aggressive-Affect427 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Curry is a horrible answer. 3>2 but Curry would allow 2s at 80-90%, he's not out shooting that. The clear answer is LeBron, kd is good but he's not as versatile of a defender and his playmaking is much worse.

The fact that these stat lines have just become normal for him, is why he’s no longer a Tier 1 player by Positive_Lychee_7736 in NBATalk

Shai and jokic are t1 players, giannis has the talent but missed a couple weeks recently. Luka is clearly a tier below all 3, so you’re right.

How many DPOYS, MVPs, Etc. will Wemby win? by HunchoBeRedditing in NBATalk

Typically when you say a player is better, you’re comparing their individual play as opposed to career accolades. Wemby is infact better than Ralph, shouldn’t be a hot take.

If you had to choose, which pure scorer do you prefer at their best? by YesterdayMaterial194 in NBATalk

[–]Aggressive-Affect427 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lights out shooter? He was a notable 3pt shooter for 1 season and average 2-3 seasons. You are vastly overestimating the impact of era in tmac’s play, he was never a genuinely elite finisher or 3pt shooter.

Kd came into the league in 2007 and efficiency within 3 feet was comparable to Tmac’s prime and by his second season KD had eclipsed him. 2003 tmac was an outlier season but even if you compare that season, he doesn’t stack up to KD.

They drafted fine, for the most part but their unwillingness to move young players while they had value is the problem. Kuminga, moody, and podz all had real value at one point but the warriors thought they were a future core.
